Sapper's collection (1 Viewer)

The hospital and store room are under siege by the Zulu at Rorke's drift. Plenty of action here Greg, you have all the elements to tell the story. Another great part of your collection. :salute::Robin.

Thanks Robin, that diorama along with the FIW was difficult as I was photographing through the glass of a cabinet and getting a lot of reflections. Next series will be the US cavalry with two dioramas Thanks for the comments and thanks to the other chaps for the likes. Regards Greg.

Here is my latest US cavalry diorama along with older scene. Greg.

Greg...

love your Rorke's Drift...
but your US Cavalry is the best...
your ground work is perfect...
you must go through a lot of paint brushes...creating the shrubs...^&grin...

I made some of the shrubs we talked about...
but I have trouble finding different shades of paint for them...
I have been using matte spray paint...different shades of green...

what type of paint are you using...matte...satin...acrylic...enamel...
and how are you applying it...spray or painting it on...

can you explain in a little detail please?

I only ever use acrylic paint in a tube Mike and mixing a small amount in a container with more or less water to get the right intensity. Sometimes i mix colours to get the colour i'm after. The cavalry grasses were dobbed with a weak solution applied by brush to give the dry grass a bit of green look. Glad you like the dioramas. Regards Greg.

My favourite (so far) is your 7th Cavalry display, pictures are great as well.

Tremendous display Gregg and very effective painted backdrop. :salute:: {bravo}}

Steve

Wow, both great scenes. Terrain and backdrop go perfectly with the figs. Chris

Cannot let this one go by without comment as it is my favourite series and you have done it so well Greg.:salute::, Robin.

Thanks Robin, Chris and Steve for your comments. Interesting that you say the Light Horse is your favourite collection Robin and with that fantastic diorama of yours, I don't doubt it. I would say WW2 would be in there too along with Romans, Real West and Vietnam. Chris, i'm less familiar with but I do recall your magnificent Zulu diorama, one of my favourites. Steve, we have been viewing your numerous posts on Vietnam WW2 and Romans for some time and have kept us thoroughly entertained. If you asked me it would be hard to choose between Vikings, Indians and Ancients. We all have our favourites but they are all part of our great hobby. Regards Greg.

Thanks Greg and yes I covert other series as you stated, plus Zulu. I particularly love the mounted figures in the Light Horse. K&C do their horse so well. There is more to come in the series from Andy and they are expected in the first Quarter of next year. We can then have lots of fun redesigning our dio's to accommodate them. Keep your collection coming, very enjoyable. Robin.
