Sudan Campaigns 1880 - 1898 (1 Viewer)

Very nice Martyn, I see you are making good use of your new ILN publication and of course your Trophy figures and sets ;)

Great scene there Martyn!

Jeff

Thanks Scott and Jeff.

There are loads of pictures I had never seen before and I've also managed to add "THE PICTORIAL WORLD" bound volume for September thru December 1882 to the collection, even more great pictures of the War in Egypt including some great sketches of Alexandria, Kassassin and Tel el-Kebir :D

Cheers

Again a great picture. Unfortunatly they were ordered not to fight from their camels but as infantry. A lovely piece of artistic licence though.:D

Wow tons of ideas there! I've seen the right hand part of the artillery picture but never the whole thing. I also spotted the death of Fred Burnaby top left. If I owned that album I'd be hudled in a corner saying "mine, mine, mine".:D:D:D

Hi Martin

You got that right:D:D:D

The volume the panoramic foldouts came from is massive, there is another large 4 foot ILN supplement from the March 7 1885 issue – The Battle of ABOU KRU or GUBAT - Jan 19th 1885, I will take pictures of this later

I have a feeling the volume was bound as a special order as there are issues of The Graphic, ILN and The Pictorial World. There is nothing included from 1884 but there is a complete run of The Pictorial World from Sept to December 1882 (Egyptian War) along with a couple of ILN and The Graphic from 1882, also included are two double pages from The Graphic of the Charge at Kassassin ;). Then there are ILN and The Graphic issues from Jan 1885 through March 1885. Fabulous buy for £104 including postage:cool:

I'd like to see the moonlight charge! Thats a realy good price although I'm suprise there's nothing from '84. It seems strange that you would want '82 and '85 but nothing inbetween. I wonder whether the original owner was there or new some one who was ?

Hi Martin

You could well be right, someone could have had the issues bound as some sort of souvenir album, unfortunately I'll never know

THE MOONLIGHT CHARGE AT KASSASSIN – 28 August 1882

Here are three pictures, two from The Graphic and one from The Pictorial World
