This is a splendid addition to your growing collection Konrad. More really nice looking work from John on display here. Nicely chosen set, and I too am already looking forward to seeing what you plan to add next. Thanks for putting up all the photos.

Hi Konrad. you wrote
as good as every single set is so far, once the dust settles after the arrival, I am already excited about, and looking forward to, the next one

This sounds dangerous. It's time to open your Grimm's Fairy Tales and read 'The fisherman's Wife.' Note in the story how progressively she finds it more and more difficult to find satisfaction. A bit like the Rolling Stones maybe :).

Having said that I wouldn't mind a few of your sets. My favorites so far are Frederick the Great and an officer on horseback.

Hi Konrad,

A masterpiece to grace your collection. John's understated painting style really is key to this collection.

I just found my favorite from your collection on another thread. This is it.

Which company makes this Prussian figure?
Thank u

It's Tradition of London, search under their model soldiers section. But this one is a special, painted by John Firth (check above), and let me tell you, that does make a lot of difference!;).

Paulo is right,
it is Tradition. Check www.traditionoflondon.com and then under Modelsoldiers.
Also, if you look under Tradition of London in the Glossy Section of this forum, you find a "Frederick the Great" thread that shows several other figures of the the line painted by John Firth.

They are well worth looking up. The Firth figures are amongst the finest painted glossies you will ever see. -- Al

Received a package today from John Firth with an addition to my British Empire collection. This time it is a wonderful vignette, winterized, fitting in the season :)
Two Officers, one from the Lincolnshire Yeomanry on the left, and the other one from the Bedfordshire Yeomanry on the right, have a little talk in a winter night around 1910.
54mm castings, finished in Superior Gloss, as usual.
Here are some pictures. Hope you like to see them as much as I do.

And a few more views, some from the back of the Officers and some from up high.
Again, extremely finely detailed painting.
Another highlight today, as all the days when a package from John arrives.

Konrad, great finish as per the norm! Are these more BMSS castings?

A collection to be proud of.

What a superb looking winter vignette. Another fine addition to your collection, Konrad. And another very nice example of John's handiwork.

Once again looking forward to see what comes next. :)
