A real stunner, that's for sure. This has become one of my favorite threads :)

Thanks, guys,
I appreciate your comments.
Should only be a few days at the most and I will be able to add two more figures here.
Looking forward to it ;) :)
Konrad

Excellent vignette. They are most certainly Chota Sahib sculpted by Sid Horton. I have several of these castings as well as some later work he did after Chota Sahib. I love this post and all of the figures in your collection. I would say this piece and the mounted Nursing Yeomanry are my favorite. I can't wait to see the next post!

Hi to Konrad - just found this thread and spent two hours looking at your absolutely wonderful collection by John. I'm absolutely knocked out by their quality. They are the best pieces of art I have ever seen. Congratulations to you both.

I was going to pick up my brush when I finished - but will have to have a cup of tea first! johnnybach

Hi oldtrousers and johnnybach,
thank you for your comments and I am glad to hear you like the figures.
I am very much looking forward to bring up the next couple photos :)

Ladies and Gentlemen,
it's time to present two more figures for the British Empire collection. These two now are somewhat special to me. The reason is that John mailed them on december 13 and the usual transit time across the pond is somewhat between 5 to 8 days. Considering that it was Christmas time and therefor extreme workload for the postal services I gave it another two to three weeks for arrival.
But when 5, 6 weeks went by, John and me kind of accepted that this delivery got lost.
You can imagine the happy surprise I had this weekend when checking my mailbox and the package was there.
Alright, here is the first one of two.
A member of the Gaekwar of Baroda's personal bodyguard, 1897. Interesting about this unit is, that they were the only Indian troops wearing a pelisse.

The second figure of this delivery is a Sergeant Major of the 2nd Dragoons (Royal Scots Greys), 1854. Seems he is about to ask a serious question and I am glad I am not the trooper who has to answer it ^&grin

Another duo of exquisite figures to add to your amazing glossy collection Konrad. How many is that you have now?

Thank you, Louis and Scott.
Scott, by now my "British Empire" collection consists of 12 single figures on foot, 2 figures on the streetlight vignette, 6 mounted figures and the Mountford AZW Gun Team with canon, limber, 4 horses, two riders, mounted officer and 5 crew.
Some additions are expected soon ^&grin

Konrad,

Your British Empire collection grows steadily with the addition of another 2 excellent figures. Thank goodness the package eventually arrived.

Raymond.:smile2:

I can well imagine the "well worn path" down to the mailbox each day whilst you were waiting Konrad - having experienced that feeling myself - many times. There's a sort of tingle each day - "Will they be there today?" The anticipated buzz getting stronger with each step - only to be dashed as you open the box - and find a phone bill - or a circular - or worse, nothing.

Then - when all hope is fading - or - as in your case - almost gone - then suddenly

They're HERE! (I have shouted out loud before now!)

Wow! - I sort of know that feeling - but I'm only waiting for castings - and you received THOSE!!!

Little treasures again - Nice to have Xmas all over again then Konrad. They are beauties - and all the more precious for the wait I expect. I don't think he's asking a question though Konrad - I think he's trying to explain to you where he's been!

You naughty boys - don't you EVER do it again.

Give them fifteen days confined to barracks for being AWOL - then a quick hug, forever! johnnybach%^V

Hi Konrad,

Waiting for a "missing" parcel is enough for anyone to have a fit, glad it turned up. We had Christmas cards two weeks after the event and they were locally posted.

You will soon have to get another display cabinet at this rate. :wink2:

Superb as per norm. :salute::

Jeff

Yes superb is the word, I'll try and post some photos myself soon, relating to another period, but Konrad's are much better...

Regards,
Paulo

Thanks everyone,
I thought I slide in one more photo of the most recent arrivals. A close-up of of the face from the Gaekwar of Baroda's personal bodyguard.
The figure is only in the 1/32 or 54mm scale. I always have to point that out, since it gets easily forgotten with the blown-up pictures.
John always manages to give each figure character with his detailed facial features.
Something not usual in the "glossy" world.
Konrad

Time to add some pictures again with my latest additions, which I received today :smile2:
This time the delivery included a mounted figure again and here he is. A Trooper of the Surrey Yeomanry from around 1902 - 1911.
Casting from the BMSS (British Model Soldier Society) and the paintwork, of course, by beating retreat :salute::
Konrad

The first figure on foot from this delivery is of an Officer of the Mysore State Force, 1897. The casting is from Squadron. Excellent, very detailed work, on the splendid uniform.

With the second figure on foot I have to wait a little bit for posting, cause I am not sure about the regiment and time, that has been picked by John. Will post it when I have the info.
Great fun to see the collection growing at a steady pace. I love that stuff ^&grin
Konrad

The orders seem to be coming in fast and furious now Konrad. Very exciting stuff. I really like the mounted figure a lot. Great looking sculpt with a very pleasing finish as usual from John. Sounds like you are not done showing us your new stuff yet???? :smile2:
