OR - too many musicians, Colour Parties, Escorts etc.,
Here's another Victorian Band - this time - The Gordon Highlanders, in kilts rather than the trews of the HLI.
Again, most parts for these castings came from Dorset Soldiers - though a common modification is to add the "wings" on Pipers/Musician shoulders, which are made from scratch. The pipers also needed a dirk added to the belt _ I used a modified bayonet.
Did someone say that they liked a piper or two?? Well - we can't ALWAYS be fighting!
Well here's a few - along with Drums, Bugles - and a full Military Band thrown in for good measure.
They are the 2nd Battalion of the Highland Light Infantry - shown here as they would have looked on Home Service ( whilst the 1st Battalion are away on Foreign Service in India). That's why they are in full Dress, and not wearing the FS helmet.
Most of the pieces originated in Dorset - though most have been modified before assembly and painting. jb
Very nice .....what a Regimental band.....fantastic, please when possible add close ups for some of the key figures so that we can see the modifications ( and learn from them:salute:.
