"The Zulu War" (1 Viewer)

On the 24th of April 1879, the HMS gunboat Forester is conducting sounding manuevers on the Zululand coast 45 miles north of the Tugela River. A large party of Zulus appeared on the shoreline and opened fire on the launch boats. The soldiers and sailors returned fire and returned to the Forester. The main guns opened up from the gunboat, sending the Zulus into cover. The Forester returned to the area several days later and performed the landing survey to establish Port Durnford for the 2nd invasion.

Mike,

Very nice indeed from the homemade boat to the seamless merging of the backdrop, there are a number of you on this forum who have got this off to an art! :)

As the Eshowe Relief Expedition gets closer to the mission station at Eshowe where Pearson has holed up with 1500 men for 10 weeks, there is a lot of activity at laager in the afternoon. The Naval Brigade needs to regrease the axle on their Gatling gun carriage, a squad of 91st Highlanders double-times by, and a second later, a spider carriage races through with a Colonel and his batmen.
