There are certain facts. First, the US has paid for the national defense of many countries around the world since the end of WWII. Both in Europe and Asia. Second, many of these countries impose tariffs that make it impossible to sell certain US products in these same countries. They also charge the US for the military bases that defend them. Many countries have entire economies built around the influx of US money. Yet they treat us as the enemy. That system has resulted in many people profiting. It is, however, not sustainable or fair in the long term. The US is $38 trillion in debt and counting. Something has to give. Those chickens are coming home to roost.I retired in 08 and if you recall the market tanked then. I did not panic and left everything ride. I now or at least 2 days ago had quadrupled my money without adding a dime. In my mind this market downturn there is a direct cause that need not happen. What do I care if shoes are made in Asia and they are paid $3 a day? If I can buy those shoes here in the USA at a good price that's what I care about. Anyone that wants to work here can. Those Asians making shoes are not causing unemployment here. I love the senator from Louisiana, John Kennedy. He said last night there should be zero tariffs and whoever can produce the goods at the best quality and price will be the winner. Every night I listen to Bill O'Reilly on his 15 minute "memo" on You Tube. I really respect what he says although he is so full of himself. But when he says " I don't know what the outcome of this will bring" I become concerned.
Come on Tom cheer me up as I also respect what you say and you are NOT full of yourself!
