Things that annoy me (9 Viewers)

Watching a documentary on the JFK assassination and realizing everyone in the film footage no matter how young or old or rich or poor dressed respectfully. Often in a suit and tie. What a contrast to today. Most people that I see out and about are wildly obese, wearing sweats, and generally not giving a frig how they look. A complete loss of self respect.

Yes, many things have changed, such as basic curtsey, hold a door open and you're likely to be scowled at and all the other little manners, that made for a more cohesive society.

Sense of humour seems to have disappeared too in some people and though the rot had started way before, I think what happened during Covid, with people pretty much missing out on day to day social interaction, has changed a lot of people in many ways.

There has definitely been a loss of self-respect and the concept of shame. The JFK assassination, Vietnam, and Watergate were all events that eroded the American ideal. We are on a new level now with social media, cell phones, and video games. People are dumbing down and becoming increasingly isolated.
