Things that annoy me (4 Viewers)

Earthquakes!

The 5.6 magnitude earthquake occured on Saturday morning at 9.50 am, the epicenter was about 100 kms North West of where I live. I was adding some new figures to a cabinet when it started to shake, I thought I had bumped the cabinet, but it kept shaking for 30 seconds or so. The good point is that only one figure fell over, with no damage. Yes I know earthquakes are a relatively common experience for some forum members, but not for most Aussies, aftershocks are expected, but I haven't noticed any so far :unsure:

So I was at the game in person with the new cheerleaders on the team. Honestly, did not bother me or my fun while there! There have been male cheerleaders for years. Granted they are usually there for stunts and tricks versus actual cheering, but honestly, don't care. The flag guys are always guys, and the SKOL drum line is both men & women. *Sigh*

Idiots that don't slowdown in school zones or drive on the bumper of a school bus. Unreal and reckless. And there are more than a few. Try slowing down to 15 MPH while driving through a school zone in the morning when the kids are arriving at school and the folks behind you go nuts. Some people blast through in excess of the normal speed limit.

Mad, angry, crazy dick-heads every where on the roads these days. Tail-gaters on cellphones are some of the worst. Its all poos and giggles until it all goes wrong. I just pull over now-a-days and let the nutters whizz past to repeat the process with the next unsuspecting motorist.

No kidding. Just unreal. When I go to the post office, I have to go through older neighborhoods with multiple stop signs..............basically, I stop and worry I am going to get rear ended. And then get flipped off b/c I stopped at a stop sign. Lots of walkers, etc. People are nuts

I used to travel in the left lane all the time, zipping along at 75/80 MPH, lately azzhat after azzhat climbs up my butt at 80 MPH, so I now travel in the middle lane, enough is enough, not worth getting killed over.

I love it when some idiot weaves through traffic to pass me, pushing the limits of time and space.

Then I slowly pull up next to him at the next red light that he has been sitting at for 2 minutes.
 
The media spinning the search of John Bolton's home for classified material as political retaliation after they celebrated a similar search of Trump's home. It turns out Bolton submitted his book manuscript for a security review as he was required to do back in 2020 but it was taking too long in his opinion, so he just went ahead and had his book published without the required approvals. Why the rush? He wanted to have it released during the 2020 campaign because it was critical of Trump, might damage his chances, and the sales would be greater to justify the absurd $2 million that he was paid to write it. DOJ began a criminal investigation but after Biden was elected they suddenly agreed without explanation to drop any DOJ prosecution for violations of the laws on revealing classified information. Any other person would have spent years in jail.

I had TS and SCI clearances and if I had done what Petraeus, Hillary, Biden and Trump had done with classified info I'd be spending 10-20 yrs in prison, as you mentioned.

I can't believe that no one in the government keeps track of classified information. Officials can apparently be given such materials, take them home, and never return them. And no one ever asks them to be returned or even apparently realizes that they are unaccounted for. Even the local library can keep track of books that are checked out. Overclassification is also a problem.

Trump to a point but I don't understand all this with the tariffs. I read what an accountant said about no tax on OT. He said that you make say $20 so overtime would be $30 but $20 would be taxed and the $10 wouldn't. Shouldn't all $30 be tax free?

When I told my egghead Penn grad far right loon cousin Trump was going to kill the wargaming hobby with his idiotic tariffs months ago (most of the wargaming producers are based in the UK), he laughed; over the past couple of days with the announcement of the termination of the De Minimis exception, numerous UK companies are saying they will no longer be shipping orders to the US, that's exactly what the tariffs did, kill the hobby................funny; he's not laughing now.

as a cpa, not that part really matters, the OT tax is generally the increment. In other words, you are going to get a pass on the inflated OT wage while paying normal tax on your regular rate. Typically a lot of these types or credits or breaks are based on incremental tax. Same occurs with Property Tax and Sales Tax incentives, it is the increment that is eligible for the incentive, break or credit

as always the devil is always in the details but that doesn't garner headlines. Tax breaks are always less than what is reported!
