Been Cool here in Australia last few weeks with Storms most days, if I had a dog it would have been krapping itself with all the thunder, Fist size hail in some areas, but no Tornadoes...so far. It's Spring here now, Summer starts 1st December ends 28th February, none of that solstice season BS downunder, we like our seasons regular

I can’t ever get my mind around the difference in seasons between the US and AU.

My brother goes to Perth for Christmas with pics of his family at the beach. They have have a ficus with lights for a tree.

All I can say is, “ Wait, what the….?”

The wind blowing 40 mph and the leaves laying in my yard not moving an inch. As though they are made from concrete while chairs and tables are flying. I was hoping all the leaves blew to China to avoid raking them.

It took nearly 30 years for the Goldman family to get a settlement from the OJ Simpson estate. Even then they are unlikely to collect much of the money. I know the legal system is slow but this one seems like a slam dunk. Not sure how they could drag it out this long. It is like something out of Bleak House.

The video of Trump telling a female reporter "Quite, piggy" is unreal. Maybe there is some additional context but can't imagine any other public official in history wouldn't be dismissed for that type of conduct. And I say that as someone who voted for him three times. Things have gone so far off the rails there is hardly a mention even by the Trump hating media.

He's coming off the rails just like President Pantload did when he started to lose his marbles, Trump literally has no filter, which is common with older people, they just blurt out whatever pops into their head good, bad or insulting.

Yes mate, very different countries in many ways, when I first joined this forum in the early 2000's I was amazed at the different climates, house building techniques etc, etc.

At least we both have Christmas around the same time. The 25th December is well into Summer in Australia and temperatures usually into the 30s/90s. As a kid my mother used to prepare the traditional hot meal on Christmas day, usually roast chicken with potatoes, pees etc, then a hot Christmas pudding with cream. We didn't have aircon or even fans when I was a kid, so the hot meals would make us kids sweat even more.

My Father insisted on a Real Christmas tree and used to chop down a small River Oak (Casuarina cunninghamiana) that grew along the adjacent river. Sometimes he would just cut a lower branch off a large River Oak as even the branches were about Ten foot long. Although called River Oaks, their leaves were actually needle shapped and the trees looked a lot like your standard American Pine tree. We all loved the fresh 'piney' smell of the tree as kids, but my Mother wasn't so keen on the dropped needles, or when our Siamese cat decided to climb it, but no squirels here thankfully. I was never keen on the traditional 'British' Hot meal on Christmas day as a child, and when I had kids we adopted the traditional 'Aussie' Christmas meal of Prawns, Oysters etc washed down with Cold Beer and or Champaign.

I also liked when nancy pelosi said she is retiring and Trump called her "an evil woman". In a way some of the off the wall things he says is why people like him. I know I do. On another subject. We did some grocery shopping at our local walmart today. And to look at not some but most of the other people in that store you wonder how they ever make it through life. I sorta mocks the saying "all men are created equal". Whoever coined that phrase never stepped foot in a Walmart.

I am sick and tired about this Epstein case. Get over it. If the dems had proof that Trump did something wrong it would have been all over the news during the election run. I may take some heat over this but I really don't feel sorry for these so called female victims in regards to Epstein. Yes they were young and some under age and what Epstein did to them was 100% wrong but these females were not 10 year old girls who new different. I'm sure there initial encounter was not planned but if it was so horrible and devastating as most are now saying why did they go back? Out of all those so called hundreds of girls why was there never a police investigation? Epstein might have been able to squash 1 or 2 police probes but not hundreds. I really don't care what this release brings. I just want to stop hearing about it.

It's always been that way. The primary difference now is that it is very personal, and some people can't let it go. Politics has become all-consuming of their lives. It's like they are under some type of mind control that is the product of propaganda.
