Things that annoy me (2 Viewers)

I respect everyone's opinion. My only addition is: ICE is not your friendly, reasonable, well-trained local PD.
Had a rough day with both P's at the doc but soon after JJD comes out with the 4th Hittite chariot we will post some bad pics.
Best Wishes to all and may Iran be less contentious...

Paddy. Best of luck on the medical front. Dont believe everything you read about ice. Most are agents transferred from other fed agencies. They are doing what they have been asked to do. It is a very tough and thankless job. I dont envy them in any way.

We collect toy soldiers, so I assume we like and know some history. What's happening today in the USA and also its relation to the world are both concerning and scary. I wanted to go to China and see the Great Wall and the Terra Cotta soldiers. I keep telling my wife we need to hurry up and go. China might now feel more entitled to take Taiwan. Russian says UK and French troops going to Ukraine for peace keeping for the proposed peace deal are legitimate targets. What does that mean? We're talking about peace time. That seemed like a veiled statement.
I think allowing tens of millions of unknown people including many criminals and terrorists into the US was scary. What's going on now is a messy correction for the incompetence of the previous administration. The regime in Iran that has plagued the civilized world for decades and terrorized its own citizen may be done. Venezuela who was an avowed enemy of the US is groveling to get back on our side. The US is promoting its own interests for once instead of that of the rest of the world. If anything, the Chinese are thinking they better not mess with the US until we elect another weak president.

You really have to wonder at the mentality of some people:

"Efforts are underway to restore several monuments at Gettysburg National Military Park after they were defaced with oil-based substances, according to a Facebook post by the park. The memorials, which honor soldiers, including those who died in the Battle of Gettysburg, were recently damaged. Restoration is expected to take months and cost taxpayers thousands of dollars per monument."

I am going to post this as what I have to say is not political even though some will make it. When I grew up, I was told to respect law enforcement. I had family in law enforcement. I don't understand why it is a hard concept. Law enforcement, right or wrong, in the moment IS the authority. If something is wrong, the idea is that our judicial system will figure it out. Fast forward to today, why would it ever be a good idea to get in a vehicle and go interfere where an enforcement procedure is underway. Are we now going to have average citizens think its ok to ram police cars while they are serving a warrant? Where is the common sense. IF the enforcement is later deemed not to be right, then all parties walk away unharmed physically. Instead, when someone who has no business or involvement inserts themselves in a situation and causes a life/death situation, the result is you do not walk away. PERIOD. This is not a debate, b/c if it is, then we have truly lost our way when an average citizen thinks its ok to jump in and create a life/death situation. This is the true epitome in my opinion of the acronym you never want to do - FAFO Doing something completely idiotic and consciously making the decision to do it can result in your death and that is on you.

This is probably the most annoying thing to me in today's world is the lack of respect for law enforcement and military personnel who put their lives on the line every single day doing their job.

Your original post seems to be lost in a great and honest discussion.

With that being said you are 100% right, when you engage with law enforcement in a particular public setting (i.e. a traffic stop) you should show deference and respect to the authority figure and wait for your time in court.

From there it is amazing to me how that same authority figure acts so differently in a courtroom setting.

The FAFO is gone, their pseudo big words intended to intimidate and hide a lack of intelligence suddenly disappear.

It is easy to create fear behind a badge and a gun on the side of a road. Amazingly, I have found that all of that hubris is nowhere to be found when a certified court reporter is taking down every word.

We have an increasing number of people who have been radicalized by social media and mass media propaganda. These are what I refer to as the "crazies." Then there are the mostly white, college educated liberals who take up certain causes like defending illegal immigrants, releasing criminals, allowing homeless people to stay on the streets. This makes them feel virtuous in the echo chambers that they live in. They can do all these things because they have no impact on their own lives. They live in protected communities with no homeless or crime etc. It's only other people who suffer. These are the types who run places like Minnesota.
I keep going back to this as is really hits home to me and is so spot on.

These people and their virtue signaling, taking up the cause of others all the while with this "Hey everybody, look at me and how much I care about others!".........and it's always corn fed white people like those loons in MN last night waking the streets blowing whistles, playing tubas and clanging pots and pans together near the hotel where the ICE agents are staying.

By the looks of some of them, they should put down the pots and pans and try a salad.

Reminds me of the town I used to live in, Westwood MA..............a bunch of privileged white people who put BLM signs in their yards and fly Palestinian flags, like any black person or Palestinian gives two pooes about any of them.

And as I've stated, with family members as law enforcement personnel and also many long time customers as law enforcement personnel, 999% of the time, I come down on the side of law enforcement, just like many left wing loons won't change their stance, neither will I.

It's become a thankless, broken toilet of a job, just about every current law enforcement person I know can't wait to retire, that's really sad.

My youngest Sister, I love her to death, but her TDS is off the charts; if he found a cure for cancer, her reply would be "What took him so long?"

This country is forever broken, there will never be a common ground people can agree on, that is gone forever, neither party wants to work with the other for the common good, all they do is cock block each other and when something like this shooting happens, they look to assign blame, it all started with president pantload and his open border and woke/green new deal/let's give everyone handouts administration, now with Trump who's ruling with an iron fist and it upsets people how mean he's being to everyone, mostly to people WHO DO NOT BELONG IN THIS COUNTRY TO BEGIN WITH.

People don't like what he did with Venezuela; he cut off oil to China and Russia, you don't like that, tough pooe, this country got pushed around/embarrassed is more like it on the world stage for the previous 4 years with a beyond weak, empty suit of a president bungling his way through 4 years like a Benny Hill episode.

About time we had a president with a backbone.

"Portland Police Chief Bob Day wiped away tears Friday as he addressed new information showing that two illegal immigrants shot during a federal immigration enforcement encounter had ties to the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua."

You can't make this stuff up. I wonder if he holds a press conference and sheds tears when law abiding US citizens are shot? As they are in large numbers in every city. My spidey senses say no. These people are living in some type of alternative universe. It does make you wonder how they got there. Some of the public figures are feigning support for these bizarre causes for political purposes but many people do seem to be under the influence of some type of mind-altering propaganda.

I just know from family that every confrontation is a tense situation usually made so by individuals, it is sad really. I don't envy the job nor did I ever want to do it. My one cousin did it all over his career and ended as a Federal Marshall. He retired as he said he finally had enough at 63 of a thankless job where he was always going to be wrong in his opinion. Again, I don't envy the job, it takes a lot to do it.

Bottom line is majority of people in the US want the illegals gone. The far left wants chaos thinking they will regain power. People better think hard when they go to vote and do some fact finding first. These politicians better get together and work things out before they destroy this country.

On a "positive" note, I think the real story of the day is Iran. Things are getting very interesting there. It is way down in the news, but it is big news, I am not sure of how good of news it is. When power is displaced, you get a dangerous vacuum, this is going to be a turning point in history.

TD
I know, who would have thought…….you’ve got Iran sliding towards revolution in graphic style for nearly 2x weeks now, yet most western msm have given it less than two minutes of attention.

Thank goodness I subscribe to other news outlets and can side step the usual propaganda and listen to intelligent humans reporting on actual events, using an ounce of the common sense they were born with.

I love all these Monday Morning judges. If you look at any situation long enough you can find something that isn't quite right. Then you keep hammering it until people start thinking "yea that makes sense this should not have happened. Just say I wrote a simple parking ticket downtown. If you analyzed this enough you could find something wrong, ie: I was half a block off my beat, my hair was to long, my shoes weren't shined. So you keep repeating this and tie it into the issuing of the parking ticket a lot of people will say "you know that's right he should have been on his beat or his hair was too long he must be a trouble maker by not following the proper dress code. That person clearly should not have received that ticket! Back to what George said this country is so divided I can't see any time soon where that will change.

It’s tragic that a woman lost her life. Her actions that day had consequences that she clearly could not foresee happening. Whether the ICE agent actions were justified will be up to an investigation to determine. Our current imagination system is broken. We need workers, but we need don’t need an open border. We need our elected officials to do their jobs and figure out a safe, moral and humane system so we are not in this same position 4 years from now. We need to be more united than ever. Russia, China, Iran and North Korea want a divided and weakened America. We need to be united as a deterrent to their aggression. Our leaders, on both left and right, need to get their act together.

It always goes up my backside when during one of these press conferences, the speaker has staff behind him/her all nodding their heads in approval to whatever rubbish the person is yammering about.

Just once, I'd love to see one person shaking their head back and forth no/nope vs the nodding along like a bunch of sheep.

Now the police, who aren't assisting ICE in MN with anything and are trying to portray themselves as friends of the people are getting bottles and snowballs thrown at them.

Oh well, as the saying goes, "You live and lear".......................

My Dad always told me if I get pulled over, it's "Yes sir/No sir/please/thank you", never once did he tell me to say "I'm not mad at you dude" or "Go get lunch big boy/I'm a US citizen/I know my rights"...................

Don't forget "drive, baby, drive." There are some commonsense solutions here.

First, don't allow people to enter the country illegally. Certainly not by the millions. We are seeing now that it is possible to close the border in contrast to what we were told a few years ago.

Second, the local authorities should cooperate with the federal authorities and turn over illegals in their custody instead of impeding federal authorities like Southern segregationists did during the civil rights movement. They should also accompany ICE on raids to clear the roads and arrest anyone obstructing investigations.

Third, individual citizens should not be spending their time obstructing federal law enforcement. It's not only a serious violation of the law but risky and dangerous. Anyone who feels compelled to so should be given mental health or de-programing assistance.

We were told by border Czar herself a few years ago the border was secure; she never visited the border to see for herself, but what the heck, this is the same person who wanted to get rid of ICE.

If a Democrat was in office and was cracking down on deporting illegals/enforcing our immigration laws (I know, I know, fantasy world stuff, but work with me), fatso in IL (imagine him calling the head of ICE a snowflake), Walz in MN and other sanctuary state governors would be bending over backwards to cooperate, but because it's Trump/a Republican, they are doing everything possible to prevent ICE from doing their job. See my earlier comments about both parties cock blocking the other from getting anything done, what a national disgrace all of this is, other countries must look at this division and laugh their behinds off over it, makes us look pathetically weak. Walz must be thrilled with all of this, he's not in the bullseye over the learing center fraud scheme; no worries though, he'll be back on the hot seat soon enough, he's not going to be able to double hand wave his way out of this one.

Citizens blowing whistles, playing tubas, clanging pots and pans together, throwing snowballs and spitting at ICE agents to obstruct federal law enforcement is the new hobby of a lot of people; do any of these people work, they have way too much free time on their hands, they do it because there is no consequences for their actions, unreal.

George you are right about when these politicians hold their press conferences and the people standing in the back ground. There is always some lesbian looking woman, and ALWAYS an angry black man scowling at the camera. Then some uniformed fat woman in a uniform of sorts plus you have this an A sexual person ( you don't know if it's a man or a woman) doing the sign language speaking of which I never could understand why that was necessary. Are there any deaf reporters at the briefing? Then hopefully maybe they can find an Asian or Latino janitor and throw him into the mix as if he is some sort of dignitary.
