time on my hands at last (1 Viewer)

How cool is this? A new ship, Robin? Looks great with your figures.

Thanks Rob and Steve, you are always supportive. Old ship, new idea supplied by my mate Howard. He would like to do the first fleet so I decided to jump in and do my own version. Should he ever do it, his would be much more impressive than my poor attempt. Some more to follow on this theme, already in the camera. Robin.

Robin mate,

Many thanks for the great photos of your First Fleet. They look great.

The 26th of January, 1788 when the First Fleet of 11 ships (2 x Warships, 6 x Convict Transports and 3 x Stores Ships) arrived in Sydney Cove and raised the Union Jack has always been a TS Dio than I have been keen to do. Alas various figures are available but not the right ones to complete a large Dio. Most of the 11 ships of the First

Fleet are available to purchase in wood but not in the scale 1:30 that I would like. They come in 1:48 or 1:72 or smaller and are not waterline but mounted on plinths.

I would love to put a Company of Marines on the ground (1 x Capt, 2 x Lt. 1 x 2Lt. 3 x Sgts, 3 x Cpls, 2 x Drummers and 40 x Privates) along with RN officers, Naval ratings, civilians, ladies, convicts, livestock (sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, etc)

The First Fleet Marines Detachment consisted of a HQ of Commandant, Adjutant, QM and Engineer Offr plus 4 x Companies as listed above. In total 212 men

Maybe one day it will all come to happen.

Cheers Howard

JJD is releasing their new Bunker Hill Range in 2024 and it will include British Marines. Not sure how the 1776 uniforms will match up to your 1788 scenario but perhaps with some painting upgrades they will work.

Lovely pictures Robin :salute::

I may have mentioned before I love boats ^&grin^&grin

All the best

The First Fleet consisting of 11 British ships arrives in Sydney Cove Australia in January 1788, commanded by Captain Arthur Phillip. From naval officer to Governor, Phillip presides over the colony of New South Wales, the settlement comprising of convicts and free settlers. Robin.

Nicely set up scenes, Robin and you're doing a good job here showing off the early days of modern Australian history.

Very nice use of a variety of figs, just noticed the Kangaroos, nice touch, against some beautiful backgrounds. Chris

Very cool Robin. Adding another front and rear section, not bad at all. I see you obtained the new conning tower with green swordfish. Looks good, esp. with the grey background as Terp mentioned. I also like the strings you attached to the rear.
My only complaint is that new raft. I wish TCS did not permanently affix it to the water section. Would have made it more usable for other scenes and dioramas.
I like how you added the little TG raft, been wanting one of those for a long time.
Great scene as a big fan of submarines! :salute::
We may even be seeing some additional pieces in the future. ;)

Thanks guys, always but always appreciate your support. Agree Rob I would have preferred the raft to be free standing. Have a string for the front, but my fat fingers could not manage to connect it, very frustrating. Have a spare raft just for postage cost, if you need one. Robin.
