Gents,
I have had this for a while and have not thought about it 'till now. It is a plaque with attached 24th Regiment cap badge that I got from David Haskell in the UK. On the back it has the label that mentions Barry Workshops under the Trophy of Wales Company. Does anyone know about this address, as being early or late, or anything at all about this plaque that can add to my knowledge about it. Thanks in advance, fellow Men of Harlech!
Mike
I would also be interested in where this might be, Wales? And, yes that's Sir. Evelyn Wood's autograph on Natal paper!
Thanks
Mike
Hi Mike
That is Trophy of Wales address pre 1998, here is a flyer advertising the Boer War tractor with that address at the bottom.
Talking of autographs, I have Michael Caine before he became Sir display mounted with a photo of him in Zulu
Cheers
Martyn

I think that is HZ29 in the cente of the melee you see in this photo
Martyn,
Moi ausi, deux! Merci Beacoup!
Mike
Damian if your talking about the Zulu with the raised knob-kerrie facing the 24th with foot raised and lunging the set HZ 21 Trust and Parry and the one next to it with the raised Assegi is set HZ 22 Assegi Verus Bayonet......Joe

I am a little confused. I remember buying the three sets on your flyer from Mike Laeding. He was selling them for a collector. Sudden Impact definitely had a place for the bayonet to slot into the torso of the Zulu Warrior. I think the member of the 24 th foot was similar to the HZ21 figure.
Damian as you know as well as I do Len has sub or changed figures or poses in his sets from time to time. Here's the Zulus that came in my sets of HZ21 and HZ29 as you'll note are side by side......Joe
I'm sure by now that we're aware of the fact that Len Taylor featured the same figure in various poses and attire. Here's an example of such a figure. I repainted the fouth figure who was wearing a green jacket with blood stains on his head and sling. You'll also notice he has and brown bases vs the three whose bases are green an seems to be a little stockier........The Lt.
Martyn,
Nice find, do you know what set he's from? Looks like RA from somewhere south of the Med, before 1900, during the reign of Victoria, when moustaches were allowed
Mike
Here is Winston Churchill at the Battle of OMDURMAN under attack from several Dervishes
The figures are from the following EGYPT AND THE SUDAN sets:
HS5 – YOUNG WINSTON AT OMDURMAN
DS47 – ANSAR CHARGE
DS59 – HADENDOWA WARRIORS CHARGE
Cheers
Martyn
PS More pictures of the new additions to follow later in the week
Great Stuff, Martyn
I shall despatch my 21st Lancers to Surrey Castle to even the odds.
Raymond.
