True Detective (1 Viewer)

Just watched the finale tonight. OK, I,m in the minority here but the first 3 episodes I thought were slow, middle 3 great perked my interest, last 2 I got so confused I had no idea what was going on. I really didn,t think it took 8 episodes to tell this story.
Maybe those 2 were actually super heros to survive that knife attack and hatchet attack. And please explain their motivation here? Neither one was on the police force!

I think Rust said it best. They had a debt to pay. With all their failings as human beings they were 2 good men who tried to get the job done.

Great ending and I guess the only way they could really have ended it. An old fort in the middle of nowhere, boy was that creepy. I'm a sucker for happy endings. :rolleyes2: At least they didn't kill Marty and Rust. Terrific series and I'm sorry to see it end. The writers maintained the creep factor and weirdness to the very end. Bravo! -- Al

Watch the last episode last night and think Al got it spot on :salute::look forward to the new series

Season 2 - True Detective

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/23/colin-farrell-vince-vaughn-true-detective-season-2_n_5869976.html

LOS ANGELES – HBO says that Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn will star in the second season of "True Detective."

The eight-episode drama series will begin production in California this fall, the premium cable channel said Tuesday.

Farrell will play a compromised detective, Ray, who is divided between his loyalty to his bosses in a corrupt police department and a mobster with a hold over him.

Vince Vaughn plays Frank, a criminal whose move into legitimate business is disrupted by a business partner's murder.

HBO had a critically acclaimed hit with the first season of "True Detective," which starred the Emmy-nominated Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.

The air date for the second season was not announced.

Yeah,I'll check it out but sounds like same same old B movie script.

Re: Season 2 - True Detective

Maybe they are operating with a reduced budget for the second season.

I think the first program will be hard act to follow after dropping the two lead character to be honest and will be interest to see where the next one go

That is the true crux of the problem HBO faces. The first season was a Grand Slam. The viewers will be expecting equal, if not better, and it is going to be all but impossible to top Season 1. I will watch out of pure curiosity and hope. -- Al

Even if it's only half as good as season one that will make it better than most other shows. The writing is probably as or more important than the actors. I wasn't a huge fan of McC before this show but he was outstanding.

Won't be the same without Chris Mcconaughey or Woody Harrelson but still worth a watch.

I see your McConaughey and Harrelson and raise you Rachel McAdams!:p

Almost time for season 2. I'm hoping for the best, but prepared to invoke the time honored tradition of claiming it does not live up to the first season. That will be a tough act to follow.

When does it start? Been waiting for this. -- Al

Reminder!! True Detective season 2 starts tonight @ 9pm on HBO. Be there or be square.^&cool -- Al
