True Detective (1 Viewer)

My view on Ballers is do I really want to see a show about a bunch of overpaid athletes and their private lives. Bad enough I have to watch them play in real life.
Agree. Why watch lifestyles of the rich and shameless? -- Al

I have seen 100's of threads and 1,000's of comments on this forum chronicling and discussing athletes lifestyles...
so they must interest somebody...^&grin
but....................

to each his own on this show...

I'll still watch it...

okay...so this could be an upcoming episode of Ballers...

Sean Diddy swinging a kettle bell at Alosi....

and you wanna miss this...^&grin

Wow, never saw that one coming, quite an ending to episode #2...............

tonight's episode of True Detective was...truly boring...truly tedious and truly uneventful...

and yes I watched it til the end...:wink2:

CF should be glad to get out of this mess...

I'll give it one more chance...but they need a little more action to keep me interested...

If it's like last year's it will get better and better. A lot of people almost gave up on it after the first 2 or 3 episodes last year.

I'll stick with it. If nothing else there have been some interesting views of LA. Just looking at the highway overpass system makes me glad I've never had to drive a car in LA. -- Al

It's actually not that bad driving there. To a certain extent, I prefer it over the East.

To be honest, I don't much care for driving here either, but at least I know east coast driving, to the extent that is possible.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Been there, done that; that's crazy talk, it's a nightmare driving out there...............stay away from route 95 in the Summer and DC 24/7/365 and it's all good..............

Liked episode #1, I'll stick with it.
After True Detective HBO premeired two other series "Ballers" OK I,ll give it a few more episodes. The 2nd one about the U.S. Government I thought was terrible, flat out stupid.

I saw the the first two episodes of Brink last night and thought it was riotous. In a way it reminds me of Dr. Strangelove, particularly the scenes in WH and Tim Robbins is excellent as is Jack Black. I'm also thinking that this is the first Pakistan sit com shown on US television.

watched episode 2 of Ballers last night...was not too impressed...I liked episode 1...but this last one was not too good...

I watched it also but I'm not too thrilled with it.Same with the Jack Black one.

That looked like Johnny Depp's Tonto firing the shots at the end. I'm totally lost but think the bad guy is going to turn out to be a bad girl. There seems to be an abused women's theme emerging. Weird seeing the actress who plays the sister in "Rectify" as CFs wife. The woman singing in that bar makes me want to rip my ears off. That's a terrible place for a depressed guy to drink.

Forget about Ballers & The Brink. I'll stick with True Detective.

Spoiler Alert

If Colin Farrell's character is indeed now kaput and after a couple of shot-gun blasts he should be (please no bullet proof vest survival) what a great twist by writer Nic Pizzolatto to eliminate one of the main character's after only two episodes-reminds one of Janet Leigh's quick demise in Psycho which stunned audiences at the time.
Much discussion amongst my colleagues this side of the pond whether or not he was set up by Frank Seymon but then again Velcoro was his inside man on the case. Intriguing and has me hooked.

I frankly doubt they would kill off the character this early (not that he's a good actor) but the coming attractions seem to indicate otherwise.
