As I said and agree, I never understood that move. It just didn't pass the smell test for me nor most of the everyday citizens. But unfortunately that is nothing new, on a daily basis I continue to be shocked at what politicians from all parties actually say out loud in public. At times, you just have to shake your head.

As a moderate, I pay a social price because I am not anti trump and to me that is utterly ridiculous. No president in my lifetime has ever been perfect for me and I am resigned to the fact they never will. I don't think this is the case. Iran has had it a long time coming. Reagan said many times his true regret was not going to War with Iran. In fact, we supported Iraq's effort as we thought they would win. Bad idea then.

I also disagree with your buttssment (as do many Israelis as it their Country) of the Likud Party. How would you like to be under attack or threat of attack every day of your life for no reason other than your religion and Country's location? The Country needs to be strong and reactive at all times.

As a kid born in 1973 and a news watcher at age 6 (1979), where every night was an update on the "hostages". I find it unbelievable now that we have people celebrating Iran (and the PLO before) in the streets of one of our largest cities. To me, it is an unfathomable disgust, and I don't know how any American can condone this. There are a lot risks but I come back to the fact that Iran cannot be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon. Trump made clear to them that this would not be allowed. He offered them free nuclear fuel for energy if they would give up their nuclear program and they refused that deal. That makes clear that the objective was to build nuclear weapons. So what could be done in that situation? One option is nothing and hope they never use it. That is the option of our "allies" but the fate of civilization can't be in the hands of fanatics. That leaves only one other option. Taking out Iran's offensive weapons capabilities including their nuclear program. If that is done, and an equally terrible regime remains in power, it is still a significant achievement. This was never an effort that was only going to take a few days unless the Iranians come to their senses and agree to a deal that eliminates their nuclear program and offensive weapons or the people rise up and rid themselves of their government.

The end game could take a number of forms. If it is nothing other than eliminating Iran's ability to develop nuclear weapons that would be a significant achievement. They were not going to voluntarily do so. That means future generations will not rick nuclear holocaust at the hands of fanatics. Anything beyond that is a bonus. The people of Iran have been given a once in a generation opportunity to clean house. Maybe they take advantage, maybe they don't. My fear is that this effort - like everything else - quickly degenerates along party lines. Meaning that it is politicized to end it before there is a reasonable opportunity to complete the task. I'm opposed to the endless wars but if this takes a few months, then so be it.

To your point; yesterday here gas went up .40 cents a gallon; someone needs to explain this one to me, the war started 10 minutes ago and gas is already going up, I call BS.

Plus I thought "drill baby drill" was in effect, wasn't it Trump who claimed when he left office, we were 100% non dependent on foriegn oil and we were actually selling oil to other countries, so now we are not?

This is like my local supermarket telling me the price of eggs is going up; what about the 500 cartons of eggs on your self and the thousands at your distributor that got there BEFORE the price increase?
