Walking Dead, Season 4 (1 Viewer)

You stack the odds anymore against the survivors -- primary needs for food, shelter, clean water, regular medical care, educating children, security from scavengers/bad guys, basic transportation/fuel, etc are no small matters -- and I dont think there is much hope, realistically.

This is where I am at this point; what sort of real future is there for any of the survivors?

Things we take for granted every day; electricity, hot water, heat and air conditioning, clean water, food, medical care and medicine in general (just about everybody I know over the age of 40 takes some sort of pill every day), etc, etc, how do you survive long term?

The answer is unless they find a cure/wipe out all teh zombies, your days are numbered.

I think it's realistic about the zombies now.The survivors have become very adept at dispatching the zombies plus the zombies have to be getting weaker as the food sources have to be getting scarcer.

Liked the new hot chick in the hot pants. That is my review.

So where are things going now anyway; the trip to DC has been cancelled (last time a truck got shot to pieces like that it blew up), Rick and his group are running, others are wandering in the woods.

Does mullet man really know what the cure is?

What or where is Terminus or whatever that place is called?

I really like how all the lawns are still mowed and the shrubs are still manicured, looks great to me outside of all the leaves on the ground.

And Rick sure made a lot of noise offing that guy in the bathroom, nobody else heard all of that noise?

One of the unwritten rules of all apocalyptic movies is that you have to have one tough military girl who dresses in short shorts and a halter top. One of the few benefits of the end of the world apparently being that only hot chicks will survive and choose to dress in this manner. The other being pointed out by Dr. Strangelove:

General "Buck" Turgidson: Doctor, you mentioned the ratio of ten women to each man. Now, wouldn't that necessitate the abandonment of the so-called monogamous sexual relationship, I mean, as far as men were concerned?

Dr. Strangelove: Regrettably, yes. But it is, you know, a sacrifice required for the future of the human race. I hasten to add that since each man will be required to do prodigious... service along these lines, the women will have to be selected for their sexual characteristics which will have to be of a highly stimulating nature.

Terminus was the original name for Atlanta when the city was founded as a railroad hub. So no doubt that's a reason they're calling it that.

By now the roads would be wildly overgrown and/or with cracked asphalt, etc. Probably not driveable.
One of many details one must overlook.
So Warrior, let's not get picky! :) But if we did....it rains a lot here and I don't recall a single episode in the rain. And you're right, there are enough ongoing medical issues that life without regular medical care would be just about as dangerous as the zombies. When does the processed food supply run out? Fresh safe water would be at a premium wouldn't it?

I guess maybe that's where there going with the series. More about survival among other living humans and battling them for scarce resources than zombie thing, which has turned manageable when not in large numbers. And why do zombies congregate anyway?

If you saw the movie The Road or read the book you know what a bleak place the post apocalypse can be. They have to keep it more cheery than that or viewers leave in droves. Maybe too much realism is a downer?

I thought that's what I said, in my own monosyllabic fashion.:eek::tongue:

I found The Road to be an outstanding movie, even if it is the most depressing thing I have ever watched. Just superbly done.
If Terminus is in fact Atlanta, there will be a story line that has to be renewed. There was a group (gang) that was holed up in Atlanta, protecting old and sick folks, in a factory complex. Rick and his group faced off with them but came to a peaceful solution in the first season. Will be interesting to see if this Terminus is in any way related. -- Al

'The Road' was definitely well made. It just depressed the HE** out of me. I wouldnt want to watch it over and over again on TV ala the Walking Dead. Life is hard enough! :)

No idea if Terminus is referring to Atlanta. Perhaps not, as being in different places makes it more interesting for viewers. But, as Atlanta was originally known as Terminus, I presume there is some sort of tie in. Maybe some group is holed up in the airport? I do know that the Grimes Gang is supposed to be somewhere south of Atlanta now. Therefore, if they are following the railroad tracks north that would definitely take them back into/through Atlanta -- beyond there who knows.

If I were living through the ZA in Atlanta Id hang out at the top of Stone Mountain. There is only one path up. All other sides are sheer. So its naturally we defensed against zombies. Maintaining supplies would be a pain, but if you could make their cable car system work again, somehow.....

Columbus GA, home of Fort Benning, is the largest US Army base. That is well south of Atlanta though.

My sense is the WD production team is pretty comfortable filiming in Ga. So wherever they end up I dont expect they will leave GA in reality :)

The bed room scene with Rick was pretty good. It had most of the elements of comedy and turned them into suspense. It was a scummy bunch that came in the house but could a guy that knows bird calls be all bad?

I looked ahead on the WD wikis about Ford. In the comics he's got a violent back story but appears to turn "good.

I've been to Stone Mountain and Rutledge has a point about that as a refuge.

The old folks gang was wiped out as per the deleted scenes from my 1st season Blu ray..As to Atlanta, wasn't that Rick's first visit when he was on horseback? Not likely they would now be going around in circles, back to Terminus/Atlanta..Michael

Yes, Atlanta was where the group first formed up. That's too bad about the old folks gang as it could have been an interesting story line to circle back to but not too surprising as that group was really outnumbered and stuck in place. -- Al

Found the info about Darryl to be very interesting. Can't understand how that non-drinking blondie could inhale all that white lightning and not be unconscious. I buy Darryl being able to stay upright, but not her.:rolleyes2: -- Al

She got on my nerves last night.I would have knocked her out.

I would have sworn that the show was leading up to her getting chomped and that certainly wouldn't have bothered me but that would have left Darryl alone in terms of the story line. Still... -- Al

I was mixed on the last episode. A bit of filler material. Daryl held up his end, but the girl is a terrible actress and can't carry an entire episode. I bet it was cheap to make, though. I'm enjoying this show a lot more since I started using the DVR. Now I can FF through those endless commercials and promos that make me crazy.

btw: Daryl and company are going to be at Chiller Theater in April for any fans of the show.

A pretty good episode last night. Was surprised by Beth's apparent kidnapping - although any place that well kept and stocked had to be too good to be true. Would have thought theyd be more on their guard by now.

So was the gang Daryl hooked up with the same as the one Rick ran into at the house? I think it was. If so wonder if the timeline puts him with them before or after Rick.

I suspect good things do no await poor Beth. Cannibalism hasnt come into play yet, and I understand that was an issue in the comics. But Im just guessing.

Terminus is rathr ominously named for a sanctuary. The post-apocalyptic world is rather lacking on safe havens. I shudder to think what horrors likely await (but look forward to it cause its make believe TV after all ^&grin )

Yeah, I was a little surprised that Darryl just went to the door and opened it without looking first. Heck, doesn't everyone look first before opening the door, zombie apocalypse or not? That group Darryl ran into is the same as the group Rick ran into, at least the group's leader is the same guy. Interesting to see how Darryl gets out of that. Having Beth become the next Happy Meal would be appropriate.^&grin -- Al
