What Toy Soldier items Have You Acquired in The Last 2 Weeks ? (1 Viewer)

Sounds interesting dio Neil. shame about the comments appearing its your stuff to do with as you please!!! Hope it gets a good price as now with the re-instated interest in russians must be the best time to sell. Interestingly, the grey captured T-34 has sold out at K&CUK but, the 150 soviet releases are all still available.

Wonder if this will be replicated when the winter T-34 is released?

Hopefully I did not come across in the wrong way. Did not know Neil decided to get rid of the tank.

I picked up this Palmetto set of World War I Russia Infantry on eBay. The set arrived slightly damaged: One arm was off as were two heads, but I was able to glue them back, so all is well. I wonder about the caps they are wearing. The bills seem to be pointing down vertically to their eyebrows rather than horizontally which is the way I have seen other makers' sets represented. Have any of you seen this type of cap before?

Here is another group of toy soldiers that I bought on eBay. They are my first Rommanians who are wearing Balkan War, 1912 and World War I, 1914 uniforms. I don't know who made them; they were unboxed and there are no markings on the bases. The first photo is of a neat machine gun crew while the other two photos are of a group marching at route step.

This is a set of World War I German Infantry from an unknown manufacturer which I got on eBay which were included with the Rommanians posted earlier. Unfortunately, two of the figures arrived damaged with a broken bayonet and gun tip.

Unique acquisition. Congrats. A little super glue should do the trick for the bayonets !

Thanks. Actually, I wanted the WWI Romanians and these were included in the eBay lot by the seller. If you are interested in them, I will sell them for $48 and you can super glue the two broken pieces. It is something that is beyond my fine motor skills ability.

Thanks for the offer, but I am a dedicated "Matt" or "Matte" collector. As far as the super glue repair just apply a small drop to each rifle/let it sit for about 30 seconds and attach the bayonet. The next trick is to gently hold it in place for about 2 minutes and it should hold.Maybe a dab of touch up paint to
finish it off. :smile2:

I picked up this grouping of World War I Italians on eBay. Although I have other WWI Italians, these are the first I have in these particular uniforms. I do not know who made them, but they remind me of Mignots.

I also picked up, on eBay, these two sets of World War I Germans on the Eastern Front from the Russian manufacturer Saint George's Cross. Two of the bayonets broke off in shipping. I also now notice that two of the five advancing figures have been painted green rather than the gray of the other eight figures? Oh, well.

Unusual and nice looking figures. Too bad about the damage. Bayonets are a pain to fix. -- Al

I have never been able to fix a broken bayonet properly. The pieces are too small and difficult to line up correctly given my poor fine-motor skills. I usually wind up super gluing my fingers together in the process. The Saint George's Cross figures are pretty neat. I have several other sets from WWI of Russian Infantry.

I purhased the Camp Apache which happens to be a topic of discussion which was just moved to this section. I also bought K&C North African Australian Austin truck and the K&C Higgins boat with three naval figures. I bought the Camp Apache at a flea market and the K&C at a toy show. All were purchased at bargain basement prices. I also purchased Britains' Greyhound with 3 figures, a Sherman and a Panzer at a military show. Once again, dirt low prices.

Mike,

What markings appear under the base?

I bought some figures that have "St George Cross" under the base.

Thanks,
Mike
