Yeomanry Miniatures (2 Viewers)

Hi Johnny,

Just to bring you up to date Dave Love is working on a quotation for the NAAFI wagon and I hope to be in a position to give him the go-ahead to put it into production shortly. So as they used to say in those old films "Your wish is my command!".

Regards,

Brian.

When I was a child - we were so poor - we thought knives and forks were jewelry (Jimmy Tarbuck - circa 1840){sm3}

Very busy I'm afeared old sport. Orders from Asset, ATS, Dorset, Fusilier, Irregular Mins, RP World Mods, WhiteTower, WhitemetalMail, & Yeomanary Mins either queued up to do, ordered - or stockpiling in the UK waiting for me to collect. (Support your local Cottagers). Other local "finds" - or vicnic pieces waiting too. Then there's the garden and veggie-plot. I seem to get busier each year.{eek3}

As for porridge with a fork - the way I make it - is there any other way to eat a slice? :D

Cheers for the update on the Naafi Mobile canteen Brian. Very pleased to hear it - as it's been a long time between doughnuts for this old squaddie!

Can't tell you how many pleasant thoughts have been triggered by the recent banter about these super vehicles - and a wonderful institution - and the pleasure they gave to hundreds of thousands of service-men and women. I'm certainly going to enjoy painting this one, when it arrives. Thanks again for listening - and then DOING IT - ONCE AGAIN. Well done chum. johnnybach

Hi Johnny,
Officiall quotation received from Dave love this morning and acceptance returned to him by E-mail. Deposit in post and I am now awaiting confirmation that work will commence and time scale to receive masters. Will advise when I receive confirmation.

Regards,

Brian.

The turret, body and chassis will be going to V L Resin Castings tomorrow. while the headlights, front mudguards, horn, machine gun, top hatch and axles will go into the next mold. The version shown is an RNAS vehicle with Naval Officer sitting on the top. There will be an Army vesion with the Commander in the hatch.

I thought you might like to know that Yeomanry Miniatures now have their 1904 Rolls Royce Staff Car in production. There will be a few at the London Toy Soldier Show on 25th June and orders can be placed now.

The car and occupants comprising of Driver, 2 Staff Officers and a General Officer retails at £119.95 painted and £69.95 as a kit of parts, for all of you who prefer to do your own thing.

I enclose some pictures of the finished article.

See you at the show.

Brian,

You know I want the first Navy Armored Car off the production line, right?:wink2:

Congratulations Brian,
Both on the choice of armoured car...we were never given the chance of having a Lancaster...this opens us a brand new venue to explore places the RR has never been, and now can come to life in the new dios....The car body in this pic, allows us to start dreaming what the car will look like!
Congrats

Update on the mobile canteen. Dave Love advises I should have the masters for the van by the end of July with luck and a following wind. Figures to go with the canteen can not be started until the first one has been assembled as they need to be fitted to the canteen.

So Gentlemen it will not be long so start thinking of the figures you would like to go with the vehicle but please be realistic as masters cost £80.00 per figure.

Regards
Brian.

I would love a woman serving the coffee and donuts who fits in the mobile canteen, and a smiling Tommy or RFC/RAF mechanic who stands outside with a mug in one hand, reaching up for a donut with the other.

I would go along with Louis for the woman serving a mug of something to someone at the counter (Me?).

I would also go for a group of maybe three guys stood close by - who have already been served - rather like this picture - which struck a chord with me. Either in KD longs - or better still shorts/putees boots and bush hat - like the guy patiently waiting at the counter. These other ones could be in a small huddle drinking their tea - or stuffing a wad (they were never doughnuts - always "wads"), carefully into the face! ( I can imagine the jam sqeezing out now!). Aaahhh - that's better!

How about that?

Timeframe sounds good too Brian - as I will be back from down-under by end July.

Will go with whatever though....................jb

All sounds good to me jb ..... if costs allow, how 'bout a second NAAFI young lady standing outside the truck (possibly looking for a missing spoon :wink2:)beening "chatted up" by a smiling squadie (possibly a devilishly handsome jb look-alike with a spoon in his back pocket^&grin). I think it has possibilites.

Hi Guys,
The canteen will come complete with a serving *****. The "customers" will be done as seperate sets. The suggestions received so far are as follows:-
1) A set of squaddies.
2) A set of RAF types.
3) A set of WRAF women.
4) A set of USAF types.

These are in addition to those listed on this thread.

Alan and Dave have been chatting about the Austin and Dave has indicated that the Ambulance version is do-able with full interior and opening doors. Any interest?

Regards,
Brian.

If you mean the K8 from Ice Cold in Alex (casting version) - Put me down as a prospective patient please Brian. Johnnybach.

How does one get on the list? I certainly want to get an unfinished Lancaster for my RND dtuff (only vehicles so far.)

Brian.
