Zach's Collection (4 Viewers)

I'm planning to go - which is the last thing I should be doing right now! :)

The winged hussar vignette is fantastic but the face on the bust is just spooky realistic. The closeup is well deserved. -- Al

As per the norm, top shelf stuff Zach! better be suing some deep pockets to support this collection!

I'm baaaaack!

This beauty is Kublai Khan from AeroArt/St.Petersburg Collection #EW13. This is the prototype figure of the upcoming Elite Warrior Series #13. The EW series are limited to 100 pieces. I was speaking with Thor about this figure (before it was available) and he told me that the production figure will probably look a bit different. He liked the way the painting looks, but felt it wasn't very historically accurate. I grabbed it because I thought it looked great and I also love having the prototypes. I am very interested to see what changes are made when it is released. Sorry for so many pictures, but I really like this Kublai figure....

These first two sets are from Dorset Toy Soldiers. You may all know by now I am a sucker for anything Israeli. The first set is the Israeli Infantry and the second is "Jewish Lads and Girls Band"

The next is the Blacksmith from John Jenkins. Although this figure is meant to be from a period much later, my plan is to use him in my medieval market diorama. Overall I think he'll look fine for the period.

I decided Kublai would be lonely, so I got him some buds to hang with!

This is Batu Khan Holding Sword from AeroArt/St.Petersburg Collection #6365.2

This is Ogedei Khan w/ Sword from AeroArt/St.Petersburg Collection #6368

I regrettably don't know much about the Mongols at all, but these new figures have gotten me very interested. I am going to do some reading and learn soon. TO me this is a great part of this hobby. I read so much about things I didn't even know I was interested in!!!!

Hello Zach, you must have one of the nicest, bizarre, most enjoyable collection out there!!! went back through many of your pages to enjoy the many photos you have added, (got to love the fat little green army men!!! :)) collections like yours are rare indeed, thanks for posting and sharing with us...Sammy

I'm glad you enjoy them. I love collecting random things along with the old standbys. In Chicago, someone asked me if it was mission to walk in a show and try to find the weirdest thing there! {sm4}

Zach,

I too, have perused your collection and find it to be an outstanding work of art. So many things, such a variety.....very eclectic! Thanks for sharing pics of your collection. It is a joy to view it and I look forward to following this thread as you post updates.

Hey Zach ... so now I understand. :rolleyes2:
When you came into George's room in Chicago was I the old standby and George the weirdest thing .... or visa versa!

It's been a while since I've posted pictures in here, so this is a pretty sizable update. I don't like doing it, but I am just going to post the pictures without commentary. If you want to know what something is, or more information, or anything, please let me know (just no time to do it all now)
So, here we go! enjoy....

Should anyone be interested, the oboe player is listed on ebay. I didn't know the # and thought this was a clarinet player and thus I now have two oboe players! {sm2}
