Things that annoy me (2 Viewers)

Brave of you to post this on here 'Warrior' as many would take 'Umbridge' with your stance. Thankfully there are more like you now-a-days, awakened to the scam, choosing to be informed or at the very least questioning what they were told and trusting their gut.......
I trust my doctors.

I have been a type 1 diabetic since I was a kid (5 shots of insulin a day for as long as I can remember).

Before the vaccine, COVID killed a disproportionate amount of people just like me even if we were relatively “healthy”.

While I agree that not everyone needed to be vaccinated the idea that people think that the COVID vaccine was a scam is disheartening as without it I might be dead.

I look it this way, in one year the government came up with the Covid vaccine to save millions of life. We shouldn't expect perfection. Some people are going to get side effects, but many more will be saved. Kind of like the TV commercials where the drugs they sell has a multitude of side effects. The government also didn't want people to panic. Maybe mask wearing was kind of like a security blanket for the masses. When I look back on Covid, I was really scared. Who wasn't?

Just read where some news out let is reporting that former tennis player Martina Navratilona is stating that the action the USA took against Venezuela is an act of war and is wrong. There you have it folks that should clear up any debate on this subject. I'm sure when Trump here's about this he will issue a formal apology and return Maduro back to his rightful presidency with compensation for the inconvenience.

Not to belabor this; yes, anyone with preexisting conditions/older people should have been vaccinated.

Depending on who you listen to, thousands of deaths that were reported as COVID deaths were not due to COVID but to other causes.

What I didn't like about the whole thing was how people were "scared/pressured" into getting the vaccine, a lot has come out since COVID as to what was and was not going on, again it all depends on who you listen to.

My Mom at the time of COVID was 87 years old, the LAST thing I wanted to do was not get vaccinated, get COVID and give it to her, imagine how I'd feel if I caused her death.

As stated, I got the shot and the booster and still got COVID three times, nothing more than the sniffles each time; was that because I got vaccinated so my symptoms were lessened, who knows.

Protecting my Mom was all I gave a crap about, she survived the COVID epidemic thankfully and lived another 5 years.

I think Fauci and others knew that just about everyone was going to get COVID. The masks and social distancing were bullcrap. And they knew that all along. People were told to put on masks to give them a security blanket and avoid panic. In retrospect, it was likely better to get COVID and develop some natural immunity while you were young and healthy than to dig a bunker and jump in to put it off. I do think some people developed a mental issue over the topic. They are still wearing masks to this day. Among other things, it became a symbol of resistance to Trump. The whole thing was politicized and bungled. Instead of shutting down the entire country - which I'm convinced was done for political purposes to influence the election - the emphasis should have been placed on protecting the elderly and unhealthy. Those folks should have been isolated. Everyone else should have gone about their business, got the virus (as they eventually did) and moved on. It was inevitable that many people were going to die. Nothing anyone could have done would have changed that. Closing businesses and schools just compounded the harm.

Jason I would never deny anyone's right to choose to have the Covid jab, particularly someone like yourself and with your health concerns.

In saying that I have nothing positive to share on the topic, due to my own experiences and what I observed. In that sense its best I refrain from any further comment. Kind regards.

Hi Doug
This is my take on the whole thing. Hindsight of course makes it clearer, but call me a cynic, I believe in what you posted as it is exactly what I think too.

Talking for myself, I didn't want to get the vaccine, but probably not for reasons that some will jump to! My cousin is a Neurosurgeon, yes brain dr. He is also a brilliant radiologist (he reads scans as an expert). Long story short, smart doctor. After talking with him, he recommended I not get the shot and here is the reason why - I have never gotten a flu shot. I guess for some genetic reason, I have an aversion or natural immunity to viruses. I have been told the same thing by my own doctor to not get the flu shot until, one I either get the flu really bad or two I am over the age of 60-65 and then it is more preventative against pnemonia that can result from the flu. Ok, back to COVID Vax. I ended up getting Moderna b/c if I didn't I would have not been able to attend events, fly, concerts, etc. (Horsemalarkey) but I did it. SO, here is what happened - first vx was actually 2 shots and yuuup, I got sick for 24 hrs. Fine, forgot about it. Ironically, I did get initial booster and what happened, you got it, got sick for 24 hrs. SO, decided no more of that and I can honestly say - NO covid since then, back to my usual routine, had one sinus cold since that happened 4 plus years ago. Am I an anomaly, I don't know, but that is my story.

We do have the advantage of hindsight but folks like Fauci were paid millions to spend their entire career preparing for such an event. They were either completely clueless or intentionally promoted pain for political purposes. Once it became clear early on that healthy people would only have minor illness, the resources should have been shifted to protecting those most at risk. Instead idiots like Cuomo actually sent COVID patients into nursing homes. No matter what they did large numbers of people were going to die. That was just the reality of the situation. It was a novel virus that spread quickly. No politician, however, was going to admit that and risk panic but that made it pointless in my opinion to close down the country. In terms of the vaccines, I don't have any problem with them. I don't think they should have been forced on folks, though. Everyone should make their own decision based on their personal health history and situation. I got the COVID vaccine and booster in the first year but haven't recently. I do get the flu vaccine every year because I got the flu several years in a row and it was miserable. Far worse than COVID in my case.

Toddy:

Understood.
