2015 NHL season (3 Viewers)

Those off side challenges should be done away with. The Blues had 2 goals disallowed and last night TB had one taken away. If the linesmen can't catch the miniscule violation then let it go as it means nothing in regards to the actual play.
I thought this late playoff run would be loads of fun, just the opposite. Another elimination game tonight. And if they win another game 7. After this I think I'll just take up watching bowling!

Agreed; the offsides rule is idiotic to begin with, seems like on every goal now there is a coaches challenge, it's annoying.

Tampa had the momentum at that point, the reversal seemed to take the wind out of their sails. They lost 4-2 on a late goal as they were pressing for the game tying goal; they never should have been in that position as it should have been 30-3 and going to OT.

You hate to see a team get screwed like that.

Game 7's are no sure thing anyway, specifically at home, I've seen more than my fair share of teams lose a game 7 at home........................the next few nights are going to be fun; well, at least for some of us.

I've said it before, but the game 7 in the 2011 finals Bruins/Canucks took about five years off of my life, I was a ball of stress the whole game, glad we won it though.....................

The Blues had a great run this year. Nothing to be ashamed of playing Chicago, Dallas, and a red hot San Jose. Winning the Cup is a tough nut. I read Ovechkin has never even made it to the eastern conference finals. That is hard to believe. I do think the NHL needs to change the playoff format to avoid first round matchups like St. Louis and Chicago.

Yes they did, the Western Conference is a Bataan Death March, that conference is loaded, there are four teams in the West that could challenge whoever wins the East for the Cup.

Sorry for Gary as I know he lives and dies with the Blues much like I live and die with the Patriots.

Happy for Jason and Jumbo Joe Thornton, he's a HOF player that the morons who run the Bruins shipped out of town for a bag of pucks. Also happy for San Jose fans, their team finally got over the hump after many crushing playoff disappointments.

Now go finish the job vs whoever wins the East....................

Well I still woke up this morning. No excuses SJ was the far better team. It was a good run and was great having your team play until the end of May. SJ will win the cup in 5. Great description George on the West, Bataan Death March.
Gary

The local channel is carrying the AHL playoffs because the Hershey Bears are in the Eastern Conference finals. It was like watching SCTV carry an event during the 1970s. Cutting to camera men who had the camera pointed down at the ice or some random spot in the stands. They had the score line about a third of the way down the screen cutting off the top half of the ice. Some good hockey though. Those poor folks in Canada are in a real drought. No NHL team in the playoffs. The Toronto Marlies are taking a spanking in the AHL. All the action is in California and Florida where they have a strange yellow object in the sky.

The Sharks are the only team that I have been with from the very start in any sport, as the Giants, 49er's, Warriors etc. all began well before I was born. I saw their first game ever when they played at the Cow Palace in San Francisco (their home in San Jose was still under construction when the franchise was founded) and then I saw their first game at San Jose Arena during its grand opening. I was a fan when they continually lost and I was a fan when they lost playoff series after playoff series. I have been to at least 20 of their games every year of their existence. I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of joy mixed with relief and hope.

On a side note I actually liked the Penguins when I was a kid. There was no hockey in San Jose during the 80's and the only connection I could find was via the 49er's as the DeBartolo family owned the Penguins too. I will be cheering for the Sharks for any number of reasons, however the irony of playing the Penguins in the finals is not lost on me.

The only true difficulty is that the Sharks beat Gary's Blues to get to the finals. He is a class guy who he reached out to me via PM after the game, making him the first person to congratulate me on the Shark's win. I know someone has to lose, I just wish we could have avoided St. Louis altogether.

Jason!

"We" meet in the finals, should be a fun ride, just happy the Pens made it. Looking forward to the series!

I'm taking San Jose in six. The Pens are like Chicago though. They always seem to play well in the playoffs and get a few lucky breaks. So this could go either way.

I have tickets to game one of the finals - alas the AHL finals between Hershey and Lake Erie! Not quite the same as the Pens and Sharks but a lot cheaper. PA is the new Canada with teams in both the NHL and AHL finals.

PENS Up 1 - 0. Exciting game on this end, take a win anytime anyway at this stage!

The Pens deserved to win that game. They put constant pressure on the Sharks and repeatedly created quality chances.

On to game 2 where I hope the Sharks can even it up.

Even tho SJ lost, Pens look out! SJ played like they did in the 2nd period last night most of the St Louis series, they will come storming back. Jones was tested last night a lot. Against St louis not so much and he stood up. My money is still with SJ.

Jones has played pretty well but I agree he is the weak link. He was basically a scrub goalie in LA even though he played well against them since being traded. The Pens are one of those teams - like Chicago - that is both good and lucky. They tend to play well on the big stage and get a few calls. This all new to most players on SJ. They may be awe struck being in the finals for the first time and find themselves in a hole.

Gary, Jason.

Another exciting one. The Pens got the shot they needed, nailbiter!

Even though low score, there were a lot of shots. Exciting and of course I am happier than Jason this morning.

Now we just need to take one in SJ and then lift the Cup in front of our home fans after winning game 5 .

Go Pens !!! Looks like my playoff beard has worked :)

This is not the SJ team that beat the Blues. Maybe St Louis took all the steam from their engines.

Or just maybe you are facing a better team .... from what i see from you and the bulk of hockey fans the Penguins are the luckiest team out , sid has the officials in his pocket , etc etc . Maybe some credit is due to them at last....

I can't see the Sharks winning four out five in this series including two games in Pittsburgh. They are playing well but really needed that one in OT last night. How many games has Pittsburgh won in OT? It seems like a bunch.
