Speaking of the Pens and broadcasters (regarding George's previous post), Mike Lange is one of my all time favorites.

The Flyers got outshot 44-10 last night and still won. I don't think I've ever seen that. My Kings got a quick exit. Injuries and a better Sharks team put it to them.

The Kings were clearly not at full strength, the played admirably and the series was closer than the outcome indicates.
 
My Rangers decided to lay down and rest up for their off season recreational activities:mad:..They played lifeless, uninspired hockey and King L looked a very mortal and average goalie at best:redface2:. We could not beat a rookie goalie in his first series and were outhustled in every facet of most games except for our extreme grunting when we hit someone on the boards...^&confuse Total waste of their rebuild off of last seasons' great run..Michael
 
Time to switch allegiances to the Islanders {eek3}. For these playoffs, that is.

I thought the Blues had them last night when they were up 3-1. I even turned the game off to wake up this morning and find they had somehow lost. If the Blues blow this series it will be a real crusher. Time to clean house.
 
Looks like the Blues are finding another way to leave after the first round. Last 3 years up 2 to 0 then loose 4 straight. This year up 3 to 1 now tied with a anything can happen in a game 7. I have zero confidence they will beat Chicago Monday.

The Caps are moving on. That wasn't pretty and the ghosts of playoff chokes past were rattling their chains but onward. Should be an epic series with the Pens. The two best teams in the league at this point. This is a franchise make or break series for the Caps. It would be crushing to go out in the second round after the season they had. Pittsburgh is the Chicago of the east. Lucky and good.
 
Great match last night in Brooklyn. Florida did all it could and was just 50 seconds short of sending it back for game 7. Onto Tampa for the right to play Pens or Caps.
 
I am really hoping that Gary's Blues get the win tonight.

And I at the risk of repeating myself, there is nothing like a Stanley Cup Playoff Game 7!

That was as good a game as I've seen since the Kings-Blackhawks game 7 a couple years ago. It was frantic and the fans were roaring (although many had on those dreaded red shirts). And some puck luck finally went to the Blues when that shot went off both posts. I wonder how much the Blues have left for the next round though?
 
I hope the Sharks meet the Blues in the Conference Finals, that way if the Sharks lose I will not feel so bad as Gary's Blues will be moving on to the Cup Finals.
 
I guess it wouldn't kill me now to root for the Blues seeing that the Wings are now in the East. Being in the western conference for so long still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth when watching the Blues or Hawks. I guess if I had to choose I would pull for the Blues only because Gary is such a die hard fan and I would like to see his team get a cup. As long as it's not against my Wings. So your a go for this year Gary.
 
Hey guys thanks for all the positive remarks. As one sportscaster said yesterday he did not want to hear any remarks that the Blues won just the first series there are 3 more to go, just celebrate for a day. We did.
Now it's time to worry about Dallas. But as I said Chicago was the BIG HUMP in the road. We shall see.

Ducks and Kings go 1-6 at home. LA, Anaheim, and Chicago gone in the first round. Brutal. On to the next round:

Washington 4 Pittsburgh 3 - The Caps were the best team this year but the Pens outplayed them down the stretch. The difference will be Holtby in goal vs the Pens injured goalies. The Caps need to find their scoring mojo though. Ugly series with the Flyers. This series might decide the cup.

Tampa 4 NY Islanders 2 - I've already spotted NY a game, but I think Tampa finds a way.

San Jose 4 Nashville 2 - This is George's fantasy series. Two ersatz teams square off. The Sharks looked great against the Kings. They have the extra rest and that is the difference.

St. Louis 4 Dallas 2 - Should be entertaining but the Blues have dominated Dallas this year. With the Kings, Ducks and Hawks gone the sea is parting for the Blues, but can they find a way to blow it?

Nashville won last night? Good Christ. They must be flipping covered wagons over in the streets as I type this.

Imagine the excitement if it's a Tampa/Nashville Stanley Cup final............................ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

I'm pulling for St Louis, San Jose, the Islanders and Washington in a close one over Pittsburgh, but if Pittsburg advances, I'd be just as happy.
