Their AHL affiliates Hershey and Wilkes-Barre Scranton are playing tonight in the AHL playoffs. Not quite the same but some good hockey.
 
It was so quiet in St. Louis after that first period that I'm sure I could hear Gray cursing from his seat. That was brutal. Maybe they come back but a game seven in Dallas would be a tough nut.

The Blues totally outplayed the former No Stars for just about the entire game, shellacking the goalie with about 100 shots but they came up short 3-2.

Two goals in twenty seconds did in the Blues.

Game 7 is going to epic, hang in there Gary..................
 
That is what is killing me with this series. The Blues are the better team. Dallas goalie was simply unbeatable tonight. Game sevens are pretty much who ever gets the best bounces and luck wins. As I have said before this is torture not fun.

That was a wicked backhand shot to win the OT game for Nashville. Hopefully we get three game 7s with a Caps win tonight. That should be a war.

Game 7s are what you live for in any sport. They are always great theatre and will produce some great hockey. Enjoy it!

Reading that the Blues have now lost six game sixes in a row dating back to 2003. They are the better team in this series. Dallas plays soft D and gets average goal tending. The Blues dominated puck possession in the game last night and could have scored 6 or more goals with any luck.
 
Game 7's are awesome in any sport; in hockey, they are off the charts. I remember back in 2011 in the finals vs the Canucks, the Bruins lost the first two games in Vancouver in total nutpunch fashion, then came back to Boston and blew the Canucks out of the building two strait, then lost another nut punch game in Vancouver in game 5, then blew their doors off again in Boston in game 6 setting up game 7 in Vancouver.

Like Gary said, it was torture, I was a wreck, then they scored the first goal...............then the second...............then the third....................then the empty netter to ice it....................I finally relaxed after that fourth goal, still can't believe they won it all after a 39 year drought.

They were talking on sportstalk radio today about how the NBS is rigged, it's all set up for a Cadavers/Warriors rematch in the finals, that's what the league and the sponsors want, plus the ratings would be huge.

In hockey, you can't rig games; imagine a Nashville/Tampa Bay final......................good God, please, say it ain't so.

I'm hoping for Blues/Capitals, Blues/Penguins, Sharks/Capitals, Sharks/Penguins. If any of those four teams are in play, I'll watch; if it's any combination of Nashville/Dallas vs Tampa Bay, I won't watch two seconds of it.

Three hockey hotbeds there.........................:rolleyes2:

Come on George you know you want to see those covered wagons burn when Nashville wins the Cup. We can all celebrate by going to Hardees. My treat. Or do I have my geography mixed up and Nashville is not in "Carolina." Dallas has the most annoying mascot in all hockey which is saying a great deal. Victor E. Green. Some marketing genius must have taken seconds to think that up. He looks like the Philly Phanatic who has been thrown up on by the girl from the Exorcist.

Can you imagine the ratings if it's a Nashville/Tampa Bay final, stop the world, I want to get off.

Hockey should ****can this moronic division winner/wildcard nonsense and just stack the top 16 teams from each conference 1-16 based on W/L record, 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15, etc, etc, like they used to do in the mid to late 1970's; you'd end up with top teams in the finals, none of this crap like we're seeing now.

Blues/Stars and Penguins/Capitals should be the conference finals, not the semi finals...............

So far tonight, a soft goal on Smoltzy and two power play goals thanks to that goon Orpik..............3-1 going into the third period, it's do or die for the Caps..................
 
Lets Go Pens! Good lord blew a 3 to 1 lead but won it OT, what a game. If they had not won, Game 7 would have been awful. The Caps Curse is still in place!

Just like when Smotlzy stoned the Bruins as the back up to the back up, he gets stoned by some 22 year old tomato can, the least they could do is get him a descent paint job on that mask, that's 1980's bad that thing........................on to the conference finals vs the Devil Rays and that rabid fan base down in Tampa, just make sure the games are over by 7:00pm as that beddie time down there.
 
Elimination games are great to watch as long as your team is not in it. Really thought the Caps would win but the Pens came out flying in OT.
I was thinking Pierre McQuire, this guy is the color man for every game. His frequent flyer miles must be over the top.

Blues up three zip after one period, should be four zip, but the damage has been done.


No doubt Dallas will make a goalie change, man he's been awful, all four goals were softies.

Gary, you're looking awesome right now, keep pelting the net with shots, pour it on..............
 
If the Blues lose this, better send the medics over to Gary's. Actually, if they win, send 'em anyway.
