2018 Baseball season (2 Viewers)

Nats have started their annual bullpen rebuild obtaining Kyle Barraclough from the Marlins for international slot money. -- Al
The bullpen rebuilding continues as the Nats have signed Cards relief pitcher Trevor Rosenthal, who missed 2018 with TJ surgery. The more the merrier. -- Al

That's terrible but not representative of most LA fans, I trust. -- Al

Al...

not at all...

or even representative of society as a whole...
it's just a few rotten apples that takes things way beyond the scope of where they should go...
these stories are both grotesque and horrifying...
and they happen everywhere...

Mike:

I used to think it was just certain fans/teams then I started to see Giants fans act just as bad.

On another note, a few years back myself and some friends sat by some Dodgers fans at a game. We "argued" back and forth most of the game, then when the beer vendor came by in the 5th inning they bought us all beers. We returned the favor in 6th inning and when the Giants won they shook our hands and congratulated us on the win.

Kershaw is staying with the Dodgers, 3/93, so there you go.

And "Gardy" is staying with the Yankees; thank God, now I can continue to hate that annoying, coconut headed pain in the ***.

They'd better worry about that rotation, maybe they'll resign Sherman Klump too...………..don't worry Yankee fans, Hal Steinbrenner is quoted as saying he's not happy the RS went through them again on their way to another WS title. He's mad, so look out MLB, we all know what used to happen when his Father got mad, he opened up that checkbook...……………………………..

Comments like Steinbrenner’s are what makes the Red Sox victory all the more satisfying.

Dear Hal,
PLEASE sign Machado.

We're begging you; him striking out to end the WS and put another championship trophy in the RS display case put the bow on the present.

And sign Harper too, he's another guy that disappears in the playoffs.

It's not about hitting the most home runs; in the playoffs, it's ALL about pitching.

Regards,
Red Sox Nation

Aside from BA, Harper's numbers are fairly consistent. There is some talk that maybe the Yankees will go after Harper. I hope not; I'd prefer he re-sign with the Nationals. I believe the Phillies are a strong contender. Another no thank you.

Me too.^&grin Phillies rumor won't go away and has been strong around here all season. Nats made Harper a qualifying offer, $17.9 mil for 1 year. He could take it but I doubt it. -- Al

Last thing I need to see is him in a Yankee uniform — Christ! {eek3} — or even the Phillies although as long as those teams have lousy starting pitching, I guess we’re safe.

The new Mets GM, Brodie van Wagenen, has said they will win now. The rumor is that they may enter the Manny sweepstakes.

Gold Gloves were announced today and for the first time since 2014 that the Giants had no Gold Glove winners. That should put the Giants' 2018 stories to rest as that was their last shot at winning anything related to their season.

Yeah, I see that the O's and Nats got shut out also, hardly surprising for the O's but I thought Nat's 3B Rendon had a legitimate shot at winning the GG except for the Arenado publicity machine. I was glad to see ex-O's player Nick Markakis win for RF. He had a terrific year. Huge mistake by the O's letting him go. -- Al

Al:

I am always torn when ex-Giants win awards etc. On one hand I am happy for them, on the other I am sorry that the Giants lost him.

Word out of DC, and 'confirmed' by Chris Russo is that the Nats made Harper an offer during the season to head off his going FA. The offer was 10 years for $300 million and Harper turned...it...down. I'm sorry, but that is insane. All I can say is AMF. I like Harper but to turn down that kind of offer is just stupid. Now everyone has a real good idea of what it will take to sign him. Philly and SF are the real favorites at this point. Russo doesn't believe the NYY's have any real interest. I wish Harper well but I don't think he will be in a Nats uniform next season. The Nats made him a fantastic offer and it wasn't good enough. Nats should just say 'adios' and move on, using all that saved money to lock up Rendon, Turner, and sign some A+ SP's. Geez, $300 mil and 10 years not good enough...:rolleyes2: -- Al
