'If it wasn't a huge advantage, then why did they go to such extremes to do it? Houston and Boston did pretty well with both winning a WS and the Astros coming within one game of another WS. The moral equivalency argument is weak sauce. A lot of people rob banks, so no one should be held accountable when they are caught for robbing a bank? Try that one in front of a judge. Maybe other teams do this. Maybe they don't. We know Houston and Boston did and they got caught. Now it is hammer time. I agree with you on the NFL. They take too long and have let the Pats get away with murder. Goodell will look weak if he lets the Pats get away with it again after MLB has been decisive and dropped the hammer on cheating.
Again, I am no Patriots fan, but what "murder" have they gotten away with? They got caught on Spygate and received largest fines at the time. Got an even larger one for the still not proven Deflategate (which by the way Flacco and Big Ben both admitted is done by every team as close to the rule as possible and sometimes over). Now this filming which honestly looks like a big waste of time and idiocy. I think they deserve a standard fine for ignorance of the rules, but I don't think you lose a draft choice on this one or any such punitive measure. Again, what murder have they gotten away with other than being the team of the Decade? Jeez, I don't like them winning all the time, but no cheating gave them the greatest SB comeback ever to beat Atlanta or the Dumbassinine of the year coaching by Pete Carroll to win another? Seriously, they have won and lost all the big ones fair and square.
