2020 NHL Season and Playoffs (1 Viewer)

Bruins lost to the Capitals last night 3-2 after the Capitals starting goalie got hurt (so Smoltzy is not there anymore to torture the Bruins?) and 215 year old Anderson stepped in.

The Capitals were flying all over the ice trying to kill various members of the Bruins, namely Ovechkin, Wilson didn't try to kill anyone; yet.

They are stealing the goon tactics from the Blues to beat the Bruins.

And their defensemen do what the Blues defensemen did; just stand in front of the net blocking shots/deflecting passes.

This series will be a short one, Capitals in 5 I'd say.................

Hockey is a maddening game. Some puck luck often makes the difference. Rask was hit right in the chest in OT and the puck somehow bounced off the ice went between his legs and shot into the goal like a rocket. Wicked backspin. The physical play is great. Ovechkin was blowing up guys like rag dolls. He is getting up there in years but still playing hard. I think this series goes 6.

Puck luck is right; I've honestly never seen a puck hit a goalie square in the chest, drop in front of him and he knocks into his own net with his stick.

The first Capitols goal resulted from a Bruins defenseman shattering his stick, then on the break out, the pass to Wilson could have easily been broken up if the defenseman still had his stick.

In the playoffs, you need to bury your scoring chances or you're toast.

I can't see this series going 6, the Capitals are a bad match up for the Bruins.

The playoff format is idiotic this year; 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3, the winners from each "division" then get reseeded based on record.

They should have just lined them up 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15 etc, etc with the half assed way they scheduled things this year.

And whatever Canadian team advances; how is that going to work, the Canadians aren't allowing travel back and forth, so will the 4 remaining teams go to FL again and play in a bubble?

One thing I have always loved about hockey is that it is made up of equal parts luck, timing and skill.

I have watched too many Sharks loses where their opponent seems to get a lucky bounce that leads to a goal, only to see the same thing in reverse happen a few days later.

It truly is what makes the sport great.

Blues play Colorado in game one. Their second best player David Perron cannot play because of covid protocol what ever the f--- that is. I'm sure they all had their shots. Not hoping for much this year but this doesn't help.

Bruins evened up the series tonight with Washington with a 4-3 OT win, Marchand whistled a laser past 212 year old WHA hold out Craig Andersen for the game winner, he gave up a softie to tie it with around 2.5 minutes left.

Series tied at 1-1; I still say Washington wins it.......if nothing else, they are kings of eye gouges, face washes, nut shots and knees to the back of the head after the whistle blows in the scrum around the goalie.........................naturally, no penalties, that's just old time hockey right there.

It's odd now to see the large crowds at these games. The Carolina game was rocking with fans.

Here in MA, all capacity restrictions are being lifted as of May 29th, so from that point on, full capacity at all the stadiums, indoor or outdoor.

I could care less one way or another about Wilson.

I simply can't stand hypocrisy. The NHL decided to advertise itself as a league that wanted to get away from "old time" goon hockey. Then when they had the chance to call out that style of play they didn't.

I loved how on the Bruins goal to tie it, Wilson comes in, cross checks Krejci, then Hall bangs it in, then Wilson cross checks him, then cheap shots him when he was on the ice.

He really is a piece of ****.

On the game winner, Ovechkin was halfway down the ice waiting for a break out pass; he's arguably the greatest goal scorer in NHL history but could give two ****s about playing defense.

When fans start complaining about Wilson I know the Caps are in good shape. Wilson really gets into their heads. The Pens fans still have PTSD from the year the Caps won the Cup and Wilson destroyed them in the playoffs.

dorks like him can get into the fans heads all day long and twice on Sunday, it's the players that really matter and the Bruins to a man could give two ****s about that cheap shot piece of garbage.

That is music to Wilson's ears. Didn't he score a goal and have the game winning assist in OT in game one? He is an old school player in the woke era. NHL players used to smoke in the penalty box. Now they are too physical.

I have commented previously and fully agree with you. He is not good for the game. I hate to say it, as I really don't like to think like this, but I am hoping someone finally cheap shots him out and puts him out of hockey. He doesn't deserve to skate on the same ice with the rest of the league, he is a piece of garbage.

Yeah, that goal was a thing of beauty, we're talking on the level of Gretzky, Lemieux, Esposito, Hull.....................what a cementhead, he scored a whopping 13 goals this year, what a a talent.

My girlfriend and I are going to the game Friday night, I'll give him your regards, he should be roped off so people can throw peanuts at him.

In the good old days, the NHL players would leap into the stands and start fights with the fans. They played drunk with no helmets. Smoked on the bench. I remember the Flyers teams from the 70s. Those guys were animals. Dave "the hammer" Schultz. I think he had more penalty minutes than time on the ice. There was some maniac on the Bruins. Cam Neely. Wilson is a *****cat compared to them. But he really gets into the heads of opposing teams. Love to hear those Pens fans complain.

It's comical to see old footage of NHL games and no one is wearing a helmet, the goalies weren't wearing mattresses for pads either.

Players today all wear helmets with shields, then when they fight, they punch each other in the shields..................

And those old time goalies who didn't wear masks; holy smokes. Then when they did, it was basically a face cover, you get drilled off the mask, your brain rattles around like a pinball in your dome....................

Bruins win in double OT 3-2.....................Bruins played like garbage all game long, turned it up a notch in the two OT's, game winner was a lucky goal and a garbage goal.................Capitals are the bigger, more physical team, I think they got worn down in the two OT's.

The Bruins have led for a whopping 8:47 this series, up 2-1 and could easily be down 3-0 as Washington has blown two third period leads.

Taylor Hall; he's a beast, what a goal he scored, he's been the best Bruin all series long, what a talent.

Great trade by Sweeney, credit where credit is due.

Series is far, far from over.

The Caps were flat and tired. Ovechkin had a goal but was otherwise MIA for the entire game. He doesn't look healthy to me. Boston should have won by five goals but the Caps goalie had a great game. The Caps need to up the energy and start putting some hits on the Bruins. That was a low energy game on both sides but Boston out hustled them. I hate the NHL playoff overtime. They need shorter breaks between the OT periods and maybe go 4 on 4 to bring it an end. It is brutal to watch the game drag on and on endlessly.

Bruins won last night 4-1, now lead the series 3-1, game 5 tomorrow night.

Best game the Bruins have played in the series, dominated from start to finish.

Samsonov is no Smoltzy, but he was very good in net last night, could have easily been 8-1.

Ovechkin didn't have to scream at him in Russian all game long for any mistakes like the one he made in OT on Wednesday, so he's got that going for him, which is nice.

Seven of the nine Capitals goals this series have deflected off of something or hit a player and went in, Ovechkin's last night went in off a Bruins skate.

Keep it going boys.

Bruins eliminate the Capitals tonight after winning 3-1 to close out the series 4-1.

Really didn't see that one coming, but I'll gladly take it.

On to the next round vs either the Penguins or the Islanders.
