Alma Figures Crimean War - Gloss and Matt (1 Viewer)

Jeff, Looking forward to watching these progress. Your painting on these Crimean War figures is really great. - Ken

Very glad to see you back at the brushes, Jeff :D
It was always fun to see, step by step, how you bring the figures to life.

Alright, my favorite painting thread is back on line. Hi Jeff, I will enjoy (as usual) watching the progression. -- Al

Thanks for the support! :) Added a few colours today and will post an update tomorrow.

Jeff

Basic colours added and these photos show how the dark blue tunic requires a second coat! This will be added whilst doing the touching up stage after the black cross belts etc have been painted.

Very colorful, as usual, for the French. Can't wait to see them progress. -- Al

The "messy phase" as I call it is over, that's the basic colour’s finished and as you can see I have not been that careful where the paint goes. I like to give the raised detail a good coat and then cut up to the raised edge with the second/touch up coat, so once the dark blue (for the tunic) and the pack/rolls have been adjusted this way they should look quite nice.

Well it's been nearly 5 months since I posted last and so I felt that it's time to put this thread to bed. Yes, at long last I've finished them! {sm3} There aren't any more in-progress photos but I will post a few pics next week of the finished figures.

Jeff

Jeff - Nice to hear from you again! Been wondering what happened to you.. Looking forward to seeing photos of finished work!
