As long as I have been a member here there always seems to be a least one
guy who constantly has a crack at k and C , a couple of years back there was
2 collectors who couldnt leave each other alone one supporting K and C and the
other having a crack at them .Then for some unknown reason [maybe the ref
blew his whistle] they seemed to change sides {eek3}.
I think some guys just enjoy fighting and thats a hobby in itself .

Hey Rob ,
All is good ,I found all the constant kerfufles where begining to suck my enjoyement from the hobby . So decided I decided to avoid kerfufles :).

Tfrogers, you should spend more time having SEX stead of buying toys soldiers...is better for the nerves.

Wow! was that an offer????^&grin
I like sex as much as the next guy but I refuse to go to Canada to get it!

The only thing I find offensive about you is that you keep buying that rickety German armor and haven't asked Congress for an Appropriation for an Abrams!! {sm4}{sm4}

STANDS ALONE!!
CC

Between you and DMNamiot-two Army career tankers, you guys don't have a one, me, the lonely grunt has three- go figure!! {sm4}

No....I was an armored Cavalryman for 20 years, Have driven and fired the main gun on the Abrams but my vehicle was the M3 BFV. I collect German armor because "MY" collecting interests involves WWII European Theater of Operations both German & American.Those rickety German armored vehicles look superb in my curio cabinets. Thats "MY" story and I'm sticking to it ! AIRBORNE {sm3}

What I find absolutely unacceptable is when members get offended by certain subject matter. If KC or any company offends you by what they produce, why are you a collector of that company? And if you are not or are no longer a collector, then why are you posting on this forum? I have yet to find a member on here who believes in/supports the horrible ideals that some of these soldiers represent. If you have a serious problem with a certain thread, maybe get a moderator's opinion before you go posting something that blows up the whole thing.

Well put GJB22 !!!!! {bravo}}

I believe it was Michael who coined the term " The Usual Suspects ", a reference to anyone that holds a so called "dissenting" view, with regards to K&C for whatever reason.

This put up a divide on the forum that left it simple, there are those whom are with us and those whom are not by what I'll call," The Long Knife's" slash, burn, take no prisoners group, that will always oppose "The Usual Suspects".

Although this group of," Long Knife's " have held to this stratagy of Slash, Burn, Take no Prisoners toward most of the TS manufacturers, CS, Figarti, TGM, and others, it really didn't manifest itself into the " Great Divide " until FL came upon the scene.

The Long Knife's tore into the infant, FL heresy like the CDC on an ebola outbreak, the unrelenting attacks on the scale, price, and subject matter of FL, til some here were just so sick of the unjustified fury and scope of these attacks and rallied to the defense of FL for no other reason but to defend a fledgling new TS company againt the Long Knife's attacks.

I became an " Usual Suspect " when I stood with the TGM's Fw-190, versus K&C's version, a thread that went viral here and lead to some of the most bizarre and self defending post ever written, most by me, to fend off the Long Knife's attacks.

Now . . . with these two groups. FL & KC, so firmly intrenched and bitterly opposed to each other, there's a call to "Purge" the Usual Suspects from the forum.

Many here, rather than chose "a side" have simple stopped posting now.

So . . a new campaign is now afoot. using the "missing posters" excuse to rid all dissent of K&C form the forum for good. . .

IXEC,
You my friend have missed the entire point of this thread. I personally after one year of posting and three years of reading before that, don't give two hoots about what is posted on the FL section of the Forum. Go for it but, do not post negative and non-constructive posts on the sections of the Forum that I read and enjoy. Being K&C and JJD.
I personally do not collect FL for reasons of my own, but do however admire the new Romans and Burford's Cavalry range. Snide and bitter and twist negative comments about figures, AFVs and the Owner are not constructive and only lead to as you put it, the followers jumping to their defence.
To say that FL was attacked in its early stages is something I do not remember (possible old age creeping in) but I will take your word as a gentleman that it is true. I will go back and try and find some of these posts and threads.
I also have been responsible for some negative comments but only and I repeat only as a reply to defend a mate who has been attacked which is part of the Aussie way of life to always come to aid of good mate.
Some of you blokes really want to take the FUN out of TS collecting and this Forum.

Missed the point, No, I don't think so . . .I don't collect FL or K&C myself . . .But I can read . . . and from what I have read the excuse of "taking ALL the fun out of the hobby" don't fly with me . . .

I ask myself two basic questions in regards to this TREEFROG FORUM. 1. What do I want to get out of this forum? 2. Does it add value to my enjoyment/participation in the hobby? Question 1 is very contentious because everybody has their personal motivations for participating. For example some like to debate, some are know it alls who like the sound of their own voice, some like the minutia/rivet counting, some like the history, some are salesman looking to make a buck and some like the social/relationships etc. Clearly if they are not getting out of the forum what they want they will naturally move on or fight on it. This leads to point two. This forum should give you added pleasure in an already cool hobby, if it doesn't then clearly you need to move on.
As for myself I have enjoyed this forum tremendously over the years but have noticed a lot of the "old guard" doesn't post as much and thats ashame because I've have enjoyed their views. I think a large part of the negativity has come about due to a poor economy and rapidly increasing prices for many consumers. That has sapped a lot of the fun out of this hobby. In general I've always tried to be positive about all the manufacturers and when I don't like something I generally say very little because I know someone else out there does and I don't want to dampen their enthusiasm. I like to focus on the positives and see fellow collectors cool collections. So am I getting what I want out of this forum? Not as much as I used too, but the enjoyment I derive from my collection and seeing others has never wavered! I think in general if we all lightened up and had more FUN {sm3} this TREEFROG FORUM would be more enjoyable for most of us. :cool:

Terrific post. Lightening up and having more fun is what this forum should be all about.

Well, I have not replied in a long time to many things mainly due to reasons Louis, Andy posted earlier, but what the heck, now is a good a time as any.

A comment has been made on here many times..........constructive criticism is ok or personal opinion on a purchase is ok...................BS BS BS. I do remember that I personally was one of the first people to see a certain tank in Chicago. I later posted my own personal opinion on it and was ROASTED by quite a number of people because I didn't think it was the second coming..........

So long story short, I have a hard time with that racket. The sad fact is no matter which manufacturer you are on, it is hard to have a critical opinion without the entire thread becoming who can type the loudest. Opinon or fact, I find the old school yard adage of "if you don't have something nice to say, best not say at all" works the best on this space.

As for the heritage discussions, I find it interesting when people post why they like/dislike or feel a certain way toward the Nazis or the Yankees or the Rebels, etc. Those are fine discussions, where they take a detour is when they become personal insults, it just amazes me how quickly that occurs. Why, I don't know, people should take the time to read and understand what others wrote and have open minds. There are not to my knowledge a bunch of White Hooded Klansman nor Neo Nazis on this board, just people who enjoy history, just respect everyone's opinion and feelings, its not that hard to do.

All in all, have many friends and hobbyists on here, a lot of you I have met personally and enjoyed our conversations and look forward to future ones.

Oh yeah, as I have to state after every post i make (should put this on the bottom as a template), I am a PROUD flag waiver for many companies on here both current and retired. Anybody who knows me, knows I collect as much as I can and from a lot of toy soldier companies you have never heard of or have forgotten about!

Now, you really do not want members pulling your actual words from the search file to point out your coming on the K/C forum and baiting collectors by pushing the TG plane in our faces..Words mean everything, especially when they are not deleted from the archives...Maybe if the usual suspects could police themselves, then the mods could relax a bit....Michael

I can very much agree with you . . . there is a tension going on that I think can mostly be blamed, as you mentioned, on the poor economy & price increases . . .I'm having fun . . .don't let negativity get to you . . enjoy .

hatfields vs mccoys
sharks vs jets
greasers vs socs
bloods vs crips
fill in the blank regarding toy soldiers.........

the names change, but the song remains the same.

can't we all just get along?

Since we're quoting song lyrics, try this one of for size;

We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brigher day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
we're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me..........

Some of you really need to find a hobby and relax, you'll live a lot longer.

Well i got banned from the FL thread and life has been great ever since,no getting dragged into arguments coming home after a dozen beers or more and letting rip {eek3} (got a breatherliser that stops me logging on to the forum hooked up to my PC {sm4}) so even tho i sooked about it now im glad it has gone out of my life,so thanks Shaz and Pete :)wink2:) .Now i just go to the sections i like i don't think ive ever posted in the K+C glossy section (i hear a few sighs of relief) and only just started popping into JJD because of those AWESOME WW1 planes he is making.So if people don't like me/my posts etc don't read them i don't care to be honest i have my "life"out in the real world and come here for R+R a laugh and advice/criticism met some,well 1 great person so far through this forum and in the near future are going to meet some more.
I hope those,i wish they would be named or come forward and own up do get banned from the K+C section so life for us who collect and admire and love the K+C product can have our fun etc without the BS,im sure FL is a better place now im not aloud to post there anymore........................{sm4}

My point on this whole thread is we all enjoy what we collect, we like this forum because of what we collect, does'nt matter (not to me anyway) which company you prefer, let others enjoy thier collections and be a positive voice, I do not need someone to tell me why this is right or that is wrong, and I know where Rob is coming from and alot of K&C guys as well, seems to be more and more arguments then ever:( I collect only First Legion but you never forget your first love:) so hope the new format works out for all threads for all the companies and we can get to just enjoying what we collect...Sammy
