No offense meant as I have some of your figures and enjoy them, but Ken has not done anything yet of great value with the Trophy he has (and I hope he does!), but I am not sure he would be part of that magical era of Trophy Gloss. In my opinion, and mine alone when I state this, this gloss magic will never be duplicated in my eyes. There is something that can never be recreated when you get a red "wrinkled" box with a label on the end and open it up. That to me was part of Len's and Trophy's magic. They are unique and will always be. I feel the same way about Kingcast which is another glorious old gloss maker.

I should say this too, its not that I won't look at what Ken does with Trophy, but to me, Trophy is Len and the originals will be what I look to as Trophy.

I have spoken to Ken and he knows I would love to see the Trophy catalogue revived, especially Egypt and The Sudan and Boer War I have most of the Anglo Zulu War

Ken should revive Trophy.
So far he has not.
As I suggested before maybe he should do limited runs of popular lines and see how they sell.
Seems like teh Boxer range and the SUdan and AZW range would sell well.
I agree with Tom in gloss not matt.

In my humble opinion, Trophy is GLOSS.

If Trophy is revived in matte, you can count me out.

I know Ken's thinking that matte is what's selling right now, but matte collectors are not going to buy Trophy. The sculpts aren't "realistic" enough for them. (I love that argument. I went on the K&C website to snoop around, and I wondered why they made a figure of David Niven in a slouch hat. Turned out to be FM Slim. Go figure.) Oh, and I'd be for Ken making the Boxer line, minus the handful of sets I've had to pay out the nose for on eBay.

Well I guess the keyword is "eventually" - sounds very promising and uncertain...

Even it is going to happen eventually, Trophy reproductions will never live up to the originals quality. So I would rather stick with originals...

I also seriously doubt that a new Trophy line will have Len's creativity...they are gonna be just looks alike at the best scenario...

I agree with Dave: Trophy soldiers can be only in GLOSS, they just do not have enough details for matte finish.

NOW, however, I can't help but feel like some others on here, the originals are the originals, Gloss and creativity.

Here is a good example of where I am coming from, RP World Models does an excellent job on reproducing Steadfast...........BUT.........it is not the same as getting the original Barbour Enterprises boxes and the original sets, just not the same for me. I really like the originals in all areas, there is something magical about it.

I can't explain it, just my gut feeling.

I just get the sense from RP that they don't really care. I have a bunch of the limited edition Crimean War sets, and I ordered a Russian artillery set to complement them. The artillery set looked like they just said, "Oh well." It was sloppy. On the other hand, their tanks look cool.

thanks for the heads up, I got them to make a gun set that was not part of their offerings, but they found the mold and did it and did it well, really took the time and I was quite happy. Now, on a side note, I had a flag replaced that was so so!

There is definitely a market for Trophy sets.
I still need quite a few generic firing 24 th Foot for Islandwana and Black Watch for Tamai.
If Ken could start putting out limited quantities of these standard figures I am sure he would sell them.
I agree with you about the same moulds same painters etc, but so far Ken has had all the stuff for about 4 years and we have not seen anything yet.

Trophy has got to be gloss, he would lose going into gloss. Then again if he tries matte and fails, maybe he will sell the line to someone who wants to do something with it and do it in gloss

BS 24 is a single Boxer firing jezail from set BS28. In 1989 he started selling selected single figures. He will keep looking for information about BS 34 and 35. I hope this helps toward completion of the list.
