College Football - 2016 (4 Viewers)

The best thing that came out of the committee's playoff picks is that USC will play Penn State in the Rose Bowl. Both schools are playing great and I think it will be one worth watching that game.

Not only a great matchup but a throwback to the days when the PAC and Big Ten champs met in the Rose Bowl. The PAC teams almost always play well and the Big Ten team often underperforms because it is a quasi-home game for SC.

The unending season of college bowl games is almost here and, as usual, 90% shouldn't be played. My might UMd Terps (an imposing 6-6 record) play an equally imposing Boston College team (also an impressive 6-6) in what should be an outstanding example of mediocrity in college football. I know all about the money aspect, but allowing .500 records to play post-season is just pitiful. I don't even know the name of the bowl they will be playing in, although I suspect it must be the Tidy Bowl.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Texas had a terrible season at 5-7, however they still qualified for a bowl game as they have a top-5 Academic Progress Rate (APR) score. Interestingly they advised the NCAA that they would not accept any bowl bids. I actually think it is a good move, it is good for the school and good for college football.

Many schools scheduled a 12th game against "Little Sisters of the Poor" colleges to get that 6th win and become .500. :rolleyes2: BC has greatly improved this yr. They finished the 2015 season 3–9, 0–8 in ACC play. The former UK starting QB transferred to BC. Chris

The annual 'Best Game o' the Year' is tomorrow. It's time for Army v Navy. Navy currently has a 14 game winning streak in this series, leading 60-49 overall. Last week's loss cost Navy dearly though, as their starting Qb and Fb both suffered season ending injuries. Army is having a good season so tomorrow's game is anything but a shoe-in for Navy. Tune in, it should be a good one. Go Navy, beat Army! -- Al

I never miss this game, it is one of my favorite sporting events of the year.

Been watching this game since Roger the Dodger went to the USNA. My dad and I watched it together whenever possible. He was a Lt.Com. in Naval Intelligence during WW2 and always enjoyed the game. Watching the march-in before the game is always a highlight. -- Al

Not a good start for Navy. They need to play their game and hold onto the ball. Turnovers will kill a running team. -- Al

First half has been a disaster for Navy. They look like they would rather be elsewhere. They have only run 14 offensive plays and 3 of those have been turnovers. Army has looked really good and have dominated Navy on both sides of the ball. Looks like Navy left their best chance on the field last week, losing the game and their Qb. -- Al

Well, at least Navy got it's act together at the half and have now made a game of it, trailing 14-10. -- Al

Turned into a good game. Army earned it's win 21-17. Navy never should have punted with 4 minutes to go. Don't know what they were thinking. Navy has gone on 4th all year long and for some reason, didn't when they needed to. Congratulations to Army. -- Al

A great event but I thought we were back in the 1920s with those two offenses before they discovered the forward pass. Running the triple option with your fourth string QB is not pretty. And Army fumbled so many times I hope they never have to handle a hand grenade.

I agree with Doug. I was glad to see Army win, if for no other reason that they haven't won in forever and makes for a better rivalry.

Congrats to Army. I always root for Navy, my brother-in-law is USNA grad, '78. He always goes to the game and was there yesterday with his son a naval reservist. Chris

Well, that's a wrap on the regular season.

I'll be tuning in to the bowls Oklahoma and Michigan are in, probably the Rose Bowl too as that's my all time favorite bowl from my youth, then the national semi final games and the national championship game.

Other than that, no thanks to the Poulin Weed Whacker Bowl, the Go Daddy.com bowl or the Viagra E.D Bowl...............ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

The FSU Michigan game was epic, happy the Noles came out on top, I felt like they had Michigan on the ropes but then a terrible 3rd Qtr made it a helluva game! Incredible finish, FSU has a lot of weapons that are starting to come along, next year might be a good one!

TD

PS - in case anybody watched it............NOT, I opted for Netflix that day, the "mighty Midget Terrapins of Maryland" got basically blown out early by the powerhouse Boston College last Monday..................I really have to go and obtain another degree to replace the MD one in my office. That University is on my forever ignore list.

Tom:

Congrats on a huge win!! I was pulling for FSU all the way in that one. And the fact that Harbaugh lost? Well, that couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. :)

UMd had no business being in a bowl game, even if they did qualify with a 6-6 record. They were horrible against good teams and the showing against a mediocre BC just proved the point. Where are Claiborne or Ross when you need them?:rolleyes2: -- Al

Two dominating wins and we have Bama vs Clemson again for the title. Clemson really impressed me. Should be an epic battle for the crown. -- Al
