I feel bad for our submarines out there in the waters. I mean you cannot practice any social distancing in one of those. Hopefully, non of them are sick. We will never know, but the sailors have to be stressed about their families. Talk about staying icy cool down there and resisting panic. Its a lot to bear for a sub crew and her Captain.

That was one of the biggest fears that we all had as we got the dive order.
AND that was just for the routine stuff, like a cold.
We were more worried about measles or mumps and those 1960's - 1970's issues
SOCIAL DISTANCING? Have you ever heard of "Hot Bunking?"
Under no circumstances were we allowed to break slience or surface without an act of GOD(or the President).
If someone got sick .... sorry .... you can go to the hospital in 6 months.
Although, I did hear tell of a rerouting for a boat that had special case where the XO had a stroke.
How that was accomplished and who took over the patrol area, I don't know.
Generally, we were quarantined for 48 to 60 hours prior to deployment and sailing; and given every vaccine and shot known to man.
I swore to God that they made up some of the names of the shots just to mess with us.
Arms were just about worthless for 24 hours …{sm2}
