The most current research I have found suggests that if you have recovered from an asymptomatic or mild case of C-19, cells in your bone marrow will produce antibodies for a lifetime. However, those who have had severe cases may not possess the ability to produce these cells due to damage incurred from the virus. What is not clearly defined at this point is what are the defining variables between a mild and severe case (is there an "in between" category?), and how does potential immunity apply to borderline cases in either direction. Another confounding variable is that antibody effectiveness appears to vary against different viral variants.

I thought I read that the best possible defense is recovering (and not having long haul symptoms) plus the rMNA vaccines. That they are predicting that as the strongest protection based on the strength of the "burn" in the marrow.

Probably not although it’s far from crystal clear. Your body develops an immunity once you’ve had it, similar to when you got the measles when you were a kid.

Not that I fully pretend to understand it, this is what I understand too. On a personal note and based on my own reading and reaction to vaccine, I believe it puts me at a really low risk for the future. Everyone has to make their own decisions that are best for them. I feel fortunate and confident in mine.

I also do not see lockdowns coming back, that will start a true civil war in my opinion. Could you see mask mandates in certain places, sure, but I don't see any type of lockdowns. Again, all my own opinion.

There is a split on authorities. Some say you’re as protected as if you received the vaccine, others recommend getting one shot of the vaccine. I’m sure the definitive word is yet to be spoken.

I had a friend who got COVID along with his wife and his two sons, all had mild symptoms, their family doctor advised them not to get the vaccine, but in the end he left it up to them, they all decided to get the vaccine.

His younger brother Dave also got COVID and nearly died; he's still not 100%, has good days and bad days, his doctor strongly urged him to get the vaccine.

My friends second oldest son got COVID, he has virtually no sense of taste, not to mention, certain things he eats or drinks taste "awful" as he put it; he decided to get the vaccine as well.

If it were me; I'd get the vaccine if I had COVID, it can't hurt and would give me peace of mind.

Imagine blowing it off, getting sick again and ending up in the hospital; the entire time you'd be thinking "Man, if I only had gotten the shot"............................

In response to your first question, I thought they already were.

As to whether people should be persuaded or coerced into taking the vaccine, gentle persuasion is an acceptable means to get people to take the vaccine. Coercion can take many forms so I’m not sure how to answer that question but in France after Macron said that unless people were vaccinated they would not be allowed to go to cafes, restaurants, etc. over two million signed up for the vaccine. A little arm twisting can be very persuasive.

About a month ago Tucker Carlson had a recently retired Dr on his show who was talking about this point. Can't remember his name but from Boston, Harvard educated and his field was respiratory related.

He was talking about the issue of college kids having to be vaccinated before going back (next month). His son has had Covid but he and his daughter had not. He and daughter have had the vaccine so he was not anti Vax. However he was very insistent that he did not want his son to have the vaccine as did not think it necessary and more likely to do harm than good. Said his sons college was insisting should have the vaccine and far from happy about it and was challenging the college about it.

It then became a story (Daily Mail) about social media moderators taking down the comments of a highly qualified Dr talking about his own family member.

For every point with COVID/the vaccine/masks/social distancing/shut downs, there is a counter point.

Even Fauci said privately that the masks that are out there aren't that effective.When they test masks that have been worn a few hours have all kind bacteria,germs etc.on them. Those professional masks that the doctors use are good.The point is use you can take 10 highly rated doctors and they all can have 10 different opinions. No one really knows for sure what the right thing to do.

Apologies for watching Tucker and thinking the opinion of a cardiac surgeon,with a PhD in immunology, talking about his sons case might be of interest. Probably best we all just trust the Government experts. Only problem is that in the case of the USA the top experts were the ones involved in funding the lab and then telling us it had nothing to do with a lab.

I will do my best to get more of my information from more authoritative sources and am now going to watch Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo daily on CNN to get some balance in my news consumption.

My overall point was short of whatever credentials doctor Hoousamgiggie Noorrchachacha has; both CNN and FOX have agendas, CNN is out to prop up Biden and blow smoke up our ***** about how great things are under his watch and what a horrendous person Trump was while FOX is out to tell us all that the US of A under Biden is about to turn into third world country and it was a virtual paradise with Trump in charge.

I can't be bothered listening to anything either channel has to say.....................the past two years give or take have taught me and any American with more than a two ounce brain how corrupt and broken our media has become.

They are all beyond useless, embarrassing is more like it.

The Australian political system varies in a number of ways to USA, and other countries for that matter.

In Australia you vote for the Political Party rather than the leader that is elected by the Party. Our Two main Parties are the Liberal Party of Australia, which is actually a Conservative party, and the Australian Labor Party which traditionally represented the Workers, but not so much these days. The nominated leader becomes the Prime Minister if the Party wins the election, however the Party can replace the Prime Minister relatively easily and voters have no say on who the new Prime Minister will be, which is not ideal IMO, but I guess we're stuck with it for now.

We have similar media bias here, with TV companies etc supporting their favorite political party. There has always been some political bias but is seems to get worse and more obtuse each year. The bottom line is that whoever is in power, the average person on all 'sides' gets shafted as the media seems as corrupt and self serving as the political parties.

The vaccine has been been distributed in the US for well over 90 days now.

I think enough time has passed to prove that the side effects many were worried about simply do not exist.

If you choose not to get vaccinated then whatever fate awaits you is solely on you. The science and reality prove that it is harmless and it can literally safe your life.
