Figarti Chicago Show Pictures (2 Viewers)

Excellent news! Thanks Steven! I really enjoy the Bloody Tarawa range.

Joe,

I took a look at some of the figures yesterday and they look excellent. There is one, a Japanese soldier with glasses, that is very well done.

The California Cutie is a prototype and not yet in production. I was told Figarti is working on the Bong P-38's right now and that the California Cutie would be closer to the end of the year.:smile2:

Thanks Steven, Those P38s are beautiful....Can't stop looking at the photos....also all the diorama work to show off Figarti Products are very well done to say the least....A very impressive display of talent

Firebat...

The dio is superb as always and are a pleasure to look at.

Looking at the Tiger 1 I remain with my first impression when I saw the smaller pictures as I have now with Franks very good close up ones. I just cannot get away with the weathering. its just not what I would expect for Figarti AFV's and what I would expect for the price. I know I am not alone, maybe the only one who may say it but, its very thick heavy and OTT on the white around the tracks.

I know the variant they are addressing but, I have not seen any pics where it looks like this and there are many of the tank where its by itself and with Wittmann and crew with it

thats the second Tiger 1 that has, for me, not hit the mark. The other releases are all very nice and several worth buying straight away.

I know what you mean Mitch. It's a nice model but there are a few things that detract from it for me too. I'm not a fan of the recoiling barrel feature either as it seems to leave bare metal exposed and I don't see the point.

For me the horse teams are the standout releases from a ground warfare perspective. I picked up the supply wagon.

Frank..

The horse drawn team are great sets and are on the list as they look superbly detailed. I also don't like the metal showing on the barral. Cannot understand what that is for as these are not IMO toys.
Thank you for the close up pics

I as well, have reservations about the Tiger I, mainly regarding the snow effect on the tracks and fenders. That really restricts the versatility of the model. I also don't see the point of the recoiling barrel. It is a neat detail but ultimately it is unnecessary. Other than those features, it seems a nice addition to the current Tiger I stable. -- Al

My fealings as well, No need to add the show detail at all.

But I've been having issues with the jet black paint that Figarti has been applying on their tanks, also.

Though the track detail has improved, the color used is distracting . . .they should have a natural worn metal look. . .

I'm kind of Tigered out' but this piece still managed to impress me. It's a Wittmann Tiger (Tiger S04) as it may have looked in the winter of '43-'44. It doesn't feature the full viewable interior of the old 1/32 Figarti Tiger but if you lift the turret out the fighting cage is present out the bottom of the turret. I haven't had a chance to really examine it too closely yet but overall detailing appears to be very nice.

I believe the six horse team with 3 riders and limber are sold as a set. The additional crew members and gun are another set. There was no mention of a firing crew.

Thanks to everyone for the pictures and yes I'm in awe of all the new Figarti pieces. I agree, I'm a bit 'tigered out' as well, but think I've gotta have this one. The metal exposed on the barrel doesn't bother me and I think the recoiling gun feature is innovative.

With regards the horse-drawn sets, I am so totally in to grab these...but I haven't see anywhere (including the Figarti site) an offering for the arty piece shown being towed-is that a prototype ?

Also, I noticed 150mm arty piece is being re-released with the towing limber-will the limber work with the first release Figarti gun set that I own-and will it be available as an odd-on?

As always, GREAT stuff from Figarti.

I puchased the Tiger and am very pleased with it. I'm no expert as others are but I think it looks great. Rick had mentioned that he thought the recoiling might have been a case of over engineering but I like it. It's a great feature. I'm sure this tank will be gone very quickly.

Everything I saw this weekend from them looked superb. Not one dud there. The six horse team is superb. Figarti really captured the weariness of the soldiers sleeping in the back.

This is great news Brad! What a nice surprise too. I really had no idea Figarti was going to continue developing the Bloody Tarawa range. I'm really looking forward to these new figures now. The Japanese soldier you described w/ the glasses sounds fantastic! I'm looking forward to seeing the figure and adding it to my collection w/ the others! Thanks again for all of your reports from the show.:) It's such an exciting time to collect!

Frank,

What an outstanding job and great pictures too!!!

The speed and variety of your pictures were right on!

It's not easy doing this and especially getting them up on the Forum so qucikly; especially since there is so much on during the show.

THANK YOU,

Carlos

Oh yeah, I saw some new USMC and Japanese Pacific figures in some of the pictures.

Anyone get any close up pictures on them on release information?

Carlos

This figure of a German WWII Medic was given to the participants of the Figarti presentation.

Hello Alex,

Can you comment on the yellow & black V-2, please.

Cheers,
Paul

Paul

Sorry I didnt see your post until now. No I don't know anything about the V2. Nick and I were not at the show. After serving at 911 I can't fly anymore. Alex

I arrived home from the show this afternoon, and just now read this thread on the forum. I would like to add my kudos to the Figarti team, as well as Ken and Erika Osen and Thor, for the magnificent new releases. I am not an expert with regard to armor, like Frank, who took the photos, but in my uneducated opinion, the new Wittman Tiger is the best I've seen in the hobby to date. The wheels are individually cast and assembled with the tracks, with the sprocket properly hollowed out, and the effect is spectacular, as is the partial interior detail and hinged opening and closing hatches (all of them!). I think the recoil is a very innovative feature. Having compared my new Figarti version to my Honour Bound Gold Wittman Tiger, in my opinion the Figarti version is an improvement.

Ken and Erika's diorama is amazing. Ken built the structures, tiny wooden plank by tiny wooden plank, with antique wood he obtained from the moldings in his historical home when he renovated, then cut down to shape, and put tiny "awl marks" in for absolute authenticity. It is far and away the finest diorama in my collection.

The two horse drawn sets are long overdue and necessary to any German column, the Caliope Sherman brought back memories of the "Screanin' Mimi" monogram model I built as a kid, and the normandy P38 was also a must have.

Figarti, you've come a long way, baby!^&cool^&cool^&cool^&cool^&cool

The German supply Wagon & 6 horse artillary Limber & Limber riders. IMO blew me away, an Amazing
Set. Saving my money, I hope I dont miss out. Great Work FIGARTI!!!! {bravo}}
