Sorry to be a wet blanket, however, I tried over the past few months to place an order, and never got a response. I have given up.
I hope that you have better luck than I did.

Given that we are so far apart, pictures say 1000 words.............
Any chance of when you reach out to Ken ask for pictures of the new WW1 British and German mounted sets and add to this thread the pictures.......these I had never seen before, the pics of the stand at the London show loaded to the Shp thread were few and somewhat dark and I would love to know which new stes are out there befre ordering.......The only pics in this thread are limited to two examples while we can see in the background that more samples are available.....
Unfortunately as usual the Maison website is of little help......

I've only got my working photos (to remind me which figure goes on which horse etc.) but one of the mags is taking better photos, so I'll post them when I get them.

Heritage Maxim Machinegun detachments........

Hi All,

Any one knows when Heritage ( Ken ) will enlighten us with a carriage based maxim......It is not that hard, given he already has a Nordenfelt carriage.......it is just a question of doing some " cross over" to borrow a car manufacturers vocabulary.....
At least the way I see it, if guys like Ken, Mike from LL do not roll out maxims for land battles ( be it on carriages or tripods ) the collector has the following options: (1) Sticks to dios of battles up to the First Sudan Invasion and part of the Second Afeghan Invasion, but no chance of setting up the Second invasion of Sudan, Omdurman and all the subsequent Northwestern Frontier little wars, or scavanges the fairs for the few still existing maxims for the British Army.......
To try and expand 1890s to 1901 British Miliarty actions be it in Sudan, india, or Central Africa without adding the maxim as supporting fire power is not being accurate as to the battalion displacements of the time....by then a Rifle Company was not all that was sent out to the field.....the maxims were the ones to tip the scale........
Would love to see them roll out of a regular catalogue........See a few pics on how great that would be!!!!!

I do intend to make figures for the later campaigns (already made 21 Lancers) including equipment like the Maxim etc. It's just I'd rather complete my ideas for the 1884-85 period first. To do it right it's not just a matter of fixing a Maxim to the existing carriage, there are different patterns as well as different patterns of tripod.

Yes that will be great...the fact that you will chose a fully functional and exact replica of the maixm carriage is great........, 5 different carriages/tripod are in my pics and at least 3 more exist...but I only have them on printed matter......
Remeber that for the Northwestern Frontier, the maxims also were carried on mule packs.....just that gives us additional ideas for dios......

Please convince Ken to setup an EBAY.CO. UK webstore. Conte has a webstone on EBAY. It would be a great way to order figures and perhaps in the long run save Ken some money.

That's good news. A fully functioning website will lead to more sales and remove the obstacles of email. THat said, I did receive 11 Heritage figs today including a Gardner gun! ^&grin My new figs include some Madhists (first of these) with one camel mounted. Will go directly into my Sudan dio. These figs are simply superb in sculpting and detail. Will try to post some pics this weekend. Thanks Ken and Martin and looking fwd to those Union Jack figs. Chris

All the makings of a great battle scene supported by the Gatling gun. I like the drummer too, always interested in something a little different in a figure. These Heritage figures are good value and on mass make a great diorama. Seems Ken keeps finding different poses to serve up to keep the series alive and kicking. My favourites are camels and horse figures, cheers, Robin.
