JJD 2023 Advent Calendar Sketches (1 Viewer)

On a side, note, I had no idea that Custer went from cadet to 2LT to 1LT to CPT to 1LT to CPT to BG in less than two years. I'm about to pin CPT after a bunch of delays, so wish me luck with the BG promotion!

Sandor

He was only really a Lt.Col. I think rank was just a means to an end for him and it was allowed at the time.
Captain is pretty impressive! Especially since you don't want a political career of Indian-killing. As far as I know:confused:^&grin. Good Luck and Best Wishes to our Forces,
Paddy

You have to be careful when you look ar the ranks in the civil war as you had your regular army rank but you could have a volunteer rank which could be much higher and there was also a brevet rank which was more of a honorary rank unless you were performing a specific duty. Custer ended the war as a MG of volunteers but his regular army rank was Captain. He was appointed Lt. Col. of the 7th Cavalry in 1866.

Good luck mate, you will be a General before you know it!

This range is going to be immense, its going to be the new Troy. No maker has probed this era like John will.

And now it looks as if we are going to get Persian chariots! Best advent calendar ever. Let's hope all of these figures make it out of the JJD stables.

That is something to keep in mind...Below is last year's 25th Day post. Very happy seeing this one, but so far, this new series has yet to see the light of day. - Fingers crossed for next year.

I'm still hoping these two pieces previewed in the Advent calendar a few years ago see the light of day. They'd be useful for both a Peninsular War or War of 1812 setting.

Fantastic, i usually avoid chariots as the packaging is large and when converted into Aussie dollars they are a small fortune. But in this case, as i have invested heavily in the whole range, i definitely need this chariot, especially if it was to have a Persian general or king.
Jas

if JJD chooses to make a Persian king (Darius III, for example) for this chariot... that's four horses!
You see what I mean...
otherwise, Persian chariots often had 1 driver and 2 fighters... a bit like the Assyrians...

Yes ! Yes ! THANKS !!!
a dog soldier!!
a Cheyenne!
I wouldn't expect that much...
he had only made one so far...here is the second!
so good!
It looks like he's on foot...
Would this announce a series of warriors on foot...
knowing that at the Battle of Little Big Horn, there were as many on foot as on horseback
