Joe's collection (1 Viewer)

I saw the preview pic for this TG set, and it really caught my eye. I don't actually collect the era, but I just thought it was a great looking piece. So I ordered it and was not disappointed. It's very well done and features great sculpting detail and painting.

I love the Eleanor figure. When I saw that was coming out, I checked everyday until it said “add to cart”

One of my favorite people in history!

I'd like to post photos of some pieces I acquired from Russia over the last year or so starting with two Samurai that just came in from Nevskaya Miniatura. The first features a Samurai in kimono with tiger and dragon motifs swirling in chaotic engagement. The second is an armored Samurai with Byakkotai tiger flag.

Beautiful figs, your collection is well above what I have. Great to view. Chris

Wonderful Joe! Especially the paint on the robes - i need to get around to getting shots of my Samurai

This is an Aeroart Indian elephant. It's a very special piece to me that I feel lucky to have in my collection. I love the blanket and everything else about it.

I think it is Shiva on the blanket..

One more for today....
I've had a few different versions of this Renaissance officer by Russian Vityaz, but this would be my favorite version because of the flag.

I simply love your collection
Mainly for the astounding painting of the Russian artisans
Even if lot of capes-, flags-, shields painting are pure creation

??? Just imagine King François Ist telling to his painter ( Da Vinci ) :
"... Dear DaVi in 3 days I must parade and I would like my shiekd covered with you painting of a lady ??? yes you know... Mona something ..."

Joe, I have that figure as well, but Wowsers, yea, your flag is absolutely stunning in that figure

Mirof, Thank you! Of course not all the figures in the collection look like these, but I really enjoy sharing my favorites and feel very lucky to have them. I'm with you when you said the caps, flags. etc are wonderful even if sometimes rather fantasy in nature.

LOL. yes, fix up my kit nicely for the big parade! LOL

Glad you enjoy the photos :smile2:

Fantastic as usual - LOVE that flag and the Nevskaya is also wonderfully painted.

This is a Roman diorama made for me last year by Vitaly Puzenko in Russia. He sculpted and painted all of the figures, and he designed / composed the diorama.

Looks like Shiva.
I love it when Russian manufacturers overdo the painting. Realism is great but so is fancy artwork on a piece. Some of the flags and caparisons are amazing. Wish we had that elephant but Joan of Arc was one we almost bought but didn't. Some regret there even though we have too much to display as it is!
Great collection. Always like to see it.

So cool - nice to have a unique piece. Would love to have Vitaly create something one day.

AJ,
Thanks! He actually first made this composition for someone else first, but when I saw photos of it I had to have one. So this is two of two.:smile2:
