Patience does pay off and 7 years didn't seem like a lot when I was much younger but a 7 year chunk of my life now seems a very long time to wait for anything. Add 7 years on to my age now and I'd be very depressed to think about it, hopefully we will all still be here and healthy in 7 more years. So if you could tell John to pick up the pace a bit, he's still got a ton of planes to do. LOL :wink2:^&grin

I don't think you would get too much of a complaint about the yellow or green cowling, maybe he could do both and let the collectors decide which they'd like to have. On second thought I prefer only one choice that way I don't have to think too hard about which one to buy and don't think I need them both. :redface2:

I was thinking about maybe putting together a wish list. Do you think there would be any interest in a bomber plane ? Size and cost may be a bit much.

You mean something like this . . .

If John decided to make a Hanley Paige like this 1:32 scale Metalshed model, or a Gotha, I'd be in for sure. I try to get at least one version of each model warbird John produces, they are really special.:salute::

All I can say is WOW, that is very impressive and totally cool at the same time.

I remember reading a book a long time ago about the pilots of these beast and how cold it was, it really made an impression for sure. It would be nice if John did one down the road, I guess we will have to wait and see. By the way your totally out of control & I love it. :salute::

I think john needs to take on the challange of a gotha bomber. There is no question it would sell. But i would think it would be challenge that he would personally like to take on and win.
He got uis the tricky camo on the wings of a fokker dvii so i am sure he could great a gotjha and he could make some ground crew for it too

A Gotha IV or V done the JJD way would be a magnificent model/work of art. It would also be very large. Depending on which mark is done, IV or V, the fuselage length in 1/30 scale would be between 16" to 16.28" and the wingspan of either would be an impressive 30.16". Packaging would be huge. I would love to see it even though I couldn't afford it nor do I have anywhere to display such a 'monster of the purple twilight', (yes, I know that this phrase was applied to the Zepps). Still, maybe I could sell a kidney or two.:wink2: -- Al

Al,

If he made the wings fold like the ones in the Hanley Paige Metalshed model, the packaging and shipping would be do-able.

Louis, that could work for shipping or maybe some sort of plug in wing arrangement to avoid a hinge. Beyond my knowledge in terms of the material John uses. If the technical problems could be overcome, it would be a real beauty. -- Al

Put the plane in the box so the wings stretch diagonally which would cut down i the size of the box. I have many 1/30 size airplanes that have been
shipped to me so i know it is possible. I bugged andy at kc for years to make a jagdtiger and was told it was too big and he finally made it. Just remembering the
kb aurora model box art on the gotha just made one think of adventure being in the forward machine gun position high over england

Hah. I remember the Aurora box art very well. The version of the Gotha I had was molded in a metallic dark red (same as the Aurora Fokker Triplane) and I remember that the figure of the front gunner was standing with his arms folded over his chest, as if he was trying to stay warm. Great model but those individual struts were a beetch.^&grin -- Al

I have been asking for a Gotha since the 3rd plane. I have heard from several members who have asked John is that it would be too hard to shipping it safely and the cost of shipping.
What a beast it would be:)

JJD has announced ACE-51, an LFG Roland CIIa Walfisch of FFA5b flown by Lt. Seibert & Hptm. Pfleger in the autumn of 1916. It is a real beauty, finished in a blue-gray camo with a fish-scale detail on the fuselage. -- Al

I see at least 2 of our members have taken delivery of the new Roland, Gebhard and Louis. It appears to be even better from their photos than it appears in the publicity shots. How about a critique, guys? -- Al

Like all of my other JJD warbirds, it is an excellent model. I am not an expert on aircraft, so I cannot speak to the accuracy of the model, but it looks as good as any aircraft in my collection, and I have a couple of hundred by just about every manufacturer in the hobby. I think the Roland may be the nicest biplane I own.:salute::

i got mine a couple of days ago and it is an excellent plane. Prices are getting up there where i wont go much higher but this roland is a beauty
i highly reccomend it. Bring on the gotha next

I have resisted so far. The models del looks amazing, but I have the other JJD Roland and two from TGM. The light blue model from TGM is just too similar to this one... Might still get it as all the JJD models I have purchased have always exceeded my expectations... I'm reallly looking forward to the figures...

If anyone is looking for ACE-01, the Red Baron's triplane, there is a listing on E-bay for one with a starting bid of $125 or a Buy It Now of $225. Not anyone I know and is a brand new seller with 0 sales. Take it for what it is. Just passing on the info for you all. -- Al

The buyer got this for $215, not a bad price, IMO. -- Al

The Werner Voss Fokker Triplane has been announced in this month's release schedule. It's been a long wait for this iconic plane, but it will have been worth the wait to finally get this beauty. Looks really good and I am very glad to see that it appears to be an updated version of the previous triplanes and is accurate to the F series as it has no wing tip skids, unlike the production Dr.1's, which had skids. I'll be very happy to add this tripe to my air force. -- Al
