ME262 - Good Stuff (1 Viewer)

With regret, I have to add my name to the list of those who received a "tail sitter". The only way mine stands up is with the ladder or a crew figure on the wing.

I say with regret because it's an otherwise beautiful warbird, a real achievement on Andy's part.

I'm unhappy for a number of reasons. One is the high price - I sold a number of retired K&C pieces at below market prices so I could afford and have room for this "limited edition".

Another is that we were told by representatives from K&C that this wasn't a problem when it clearly is.

And at the risk of fueling a conspiracy theory...why include the ladder if it wasn't a problem?

If you've read an of my other posts, I don't think I'm particularly a complainer and I've praised K&C much more than I've criticized them. I stayed out of the price increase and dealer discount debates, and given K&C the benefit of the doubt assuming that these decisions were made in the best interest of collectors as well as manufacturers.

I bought this at Treefrog, so I imagine that's who I have to contact first about this. Maybe someone could tell me who?

I imagine based on past experience that TF will handle this in as hassle-free a manner as is possible.

But to me it's not just a product defect but a customer relations problem. I don't expect Andy to respond to every thread here. He's a busy guy, and it's rare to be in a hobby where the CEO speaks directly to consumers in a friendly, entertaining way. And with all the negativity and second guessing, I wouldn't blame he or anyone else from K&C for wanting to take a break from here.

But the silence on this forum from K&C has been deafening on a number of these issue. Just a "hey, we goofed", most of them are ok, some of them have problems but our dealers will check before shipping would be easy enough.

I don't mean to pick on Andy. I've only had one problem on a K&C piece - a drooping barrel on a Firefly turret - and it was quickly replaced at no cost. As quality control goes, it's hard to think of a better manufacturer, and I've found Andy to be charmingly entertaining and warm, a great ambassador to the hobby for someone relatively new like myself.

I guess that's what makes what happened here so surprising and disappointing.

Well....have you learned anything....

...what goes around...comes around....

I recieved my ME262 yesterday and I AM HAPPY to report "mine is NOT a tailsitter" It is very impressive looking. The only thing better is if the canopy would open. Still its a nice bird...Ron

marksable...

Excellent post and, in relation to the negativity and second guessing it could all have been put to bed with a clarification post from Andy. Had the company responded to collectors concerns over the price increase (I said it would have been better if Andy had posted this rather than a newsletter release and a poster on here) the broken flak, me262 issues, and the WWI truck then there would have been little or no debate about these issues as there clearly has been.

Iona...

I suppose sending it back is your choice unless your happy with it being on a stand all the time in your display.

I would speak with your dealer Scott :salute::

For the life of me I can't understand why K & C doesn't make a statement about this. It's just good public relations

Totally agree there are a few issues that could easily have been put to bed had Andy posted. it does seem a willingness to post when people have had a pop but not on substantive issues like this which, is important to his business standing

Very strange
Mitch

Maybe we will hear: "If you don't like it start your own Toy Soldier Co.";)

Just got told no other version all like this
Dont mind i was going to get crew for it anyway;);)
it is asuperb model:cool:

lets not forget it is new year in HK at the moment and Andy often leaves before the start of the holiday. so no responce for a week will be no surprise

i suggest anybody not happy with the ME262 makes a call and asks for a refund or exchange (for a non tale sitter........if there are any) or a credit towards something else. The dealer can then sort it (please be warned not ALL dealers carry extra stock and may not have the numbers to replace)

Tony

There have been many that are not and are fine (the majority I'm sure) but also, unfortunately, some that have been, a situation no one obviously wanted to happen.

Does every one agree who has one of these that it is the best warbird to date ^&grin
EVEN THE ONES WHO HAVE TAIL SITTERS :wink2:
What other camos did these come in
