Moe's JJD Model Collection (1 Viewer)

Well, we’ve got a two-seater. However, I doubt that we’ll ever see my favorite. The Brisfit is just too complex for Jenkins’ current price-point:

Look at all that rigging, struts, and all. And it’s almost as big as the Corsair...but the wings are NOT detachable. The box would be enormous. In other words, it would cost a fortune to ship.:redface2:

It is such a great aircraft and stayed in service for so long it could easily be put in John's interwar section as well as WW1. Would love to see McKeever's plane. I fear you are correct about the size and complexity and being able to bring it in at an affordable price. Then again, John did solve the DH-2 complexities. But the Bristol's size... -- Al

Sorry for the Figarti Launch Officer.

Hopefully, we'll have a proper, JJD "shooter" in the future!:D

Excellent job with this one Moe!

Looks so authentic as if it were a real photo taken during the war.

Thanks Mark,

The model is certainly photogenic,;) and will grow more so as the range expands.:D

Received ACE-33 today, so I thought that I'd take some pictures and post them as a slide show to Youtube:

It was only after I'd done the image captures that I realized that I hadn't worked with the Albatros in over five years. Long overdue, as this is a heck of a model.

For anyone who''d like to view the individual images as stills, I'm going to upload them to the Facebook/Asia group as an Album. Simply search the group for Albatros, and they ought to show up in the results.

Hmm, wonder how I violated the terms of service^&confuse^&confuse^&confuse

Let's give it another try:

The poll response got me thinking about Jenkins' triplane model, so I thought that I'd post some pics of an old friend:

Excellent pics, Moe. Nothing says WW1 aviation like the Baron's red tripe. ^&cool -- Al

Thanks Al, ACE-01 has been with me for six years. Seems like just yesterday.

Something MUCH newer:

That's a really spectacular shot, Moe. You have that technique nailed. -- Al

Thanks Al. IMO, the LSO figure is the best of the BH/IWA sets that have thus far been released.

Hehe, it's like I said months ago...If the pic's not level, blame it on the roll of the ship!:wink2::wink2::wink2:

I took a pic of the figure on deck, one of the model on a stand, and the water/sky is a freebie wallpaper that I found in Duckduckgo images. Then I layered them one on top of the other. I don't have this all figured out, BTW. However, I'm learning. Got the idea from another forum member who uses the technique on his pics. As always, the hardest thing about taking pics of model airplanes is blowing on the prop while trying to focus the camera on the subject.
