Cheers Bob.

Nice pics Harry, darn those pics look cold, the only thing missing, is seeing their breath. That just makes me think of that nasty white stuff around the corner, no not caine, snow. Mike:)

Decided the NMA figure on the Hetzer deserved a cushion, cos it must be pretty cold sitting on that gun mantlet.
Need to dull down that ice, probably use the same method as I dulled down the underside of the Hetzer. Am working on improving the icicles and the barbed wire obstruction strung across the road.
Have started a new Crusader/IC dio. Its a very simple one this time. Ought to be able to post some photos in a couple of days time.

Harry, what did you use to make the icicles? They have come out very well :)

Over on the other channel, Fish suggested stretched sprue. I had considered this but I'm not a modeller and don't have any. When other methods of producing icicles failed miserably, I cut up a clear plastic ruler and put the zippo to the shards. Fixed them in place with superglue them flowed some 2-part epoxy over them. The results were that some work really well and some only marginally IMO. So I need to work some more at them.
Also received a suggestion for producing more realistic barbed wire. I also need to dull down the sheet Ice as well. Will post the improvements tomorrow.

Cool dio Harry. I have been wanting to do a winter dio for the longest time. I guess I just need to do it.

Well done H,

Love the tracks in the snow, the use of the mountain tunnel and theme.

Keep up the great work,

Carlos

Here's a few more taken at different angles. The B&W effect makes it look even more bleak....if that's possible.:eek:

Meanwhile, back at Flashy's Wedding Farce, the Bridesmaid's fainted and a substitute's been roped in. Instead of organ music, some itinerant peddler's been coerced into "Givin' it a Blaw".

Nice effect and great shots and editing of your B & W photos...The Lt.

Thanks Joe & Simon.
As I've said so many times, building dioramas and photographing them is a departure in the collecting hobby for me and its one that I'm really enjoying. I sincerely hope that anyone else looking at this thread takes the same pleasure from it, and hopefully it'll encourage others who haven't tried this, to have a go, cos its not difficult if you're given some basic help from some of the great people on this forum.
Best Regards
H

It's been mentioned in various conversion threads, but I think the same applies to dios as well, photos of other peoples work provides inspiration and ideas for your own creation. There is definately an element of 'feeding' off others.
And there plenty of 'food' with your creations.

Guess that makes me a vampire then Simon (apologies CS :):) - obscure reference). I've taken plenty of inspiration from other Diorama builders on this forum and have applied all I've read to produce what I've....ummm....produced.
