Superb Tom. Just needs a backdrop on that block wall...a tunnel would look good 😚. Love the overall effect and the little red flowers are a great detail. 😎

The diorama looks great Tom !!!

I do like the vegetation and the reeds in the creek, so looking forward to see what happens after the rain :)

You can come and work in my garden any time, !!!!

Well Done, and looking forward to seeing it evolve in the coming year.

Hi all

Well, I have had my head down and tail up over the last couple of months and been busy gluing down the railway track, laying ballast, laying grass and planting bushes and flowers on my dio. I still have a fair bit more to go but I am quite pleased in how it is turning out. The stone wall around the farmhouse is not yet complete (or glued down) and I will put in another gate when the gate posts I ordered arrive. The stone wall is made by JG Miniatures but I am extending each end of the walls by building my own out of little stones I found lying around the yard. I made both gates out of match sticks and bits of wire.

I have finished painting and weathering the rocky hill and all I have to do is add some grass and imitation soil. I also just recently added some rocks on the hill slope which were painted and weathered by myself. I will lay grass and flowers around the rocks. I still have to plant heaps more flowers and weeds on the entire dio once I have finished all the grassing. I will add another dead tree and some more dead timber ect as well as a couple more JG miniature trees. The bushes and trees you can see are also made by JG Miniatures.

I will pour the realistic water into the creek when I have finished everything else. This will be the last step in the construction of the diorama and I am doing the pour last so I don’t get bits of grass and other wastage all over the water surface while I am gluing down the grass, bushes etc.

Last couple, hope you enjoy.

Happy New Year everyone!

Tom

You have been 'very' busy !

Vegetation has grown up a lot since last pictures...'Desert' feel has gone.

Tremendous amount of effort and time, I'm sure.

Love the flowers along the track.

Really coming together.

Thank you and Happy New Year to you !

You would have to be happy with this Tom. A very rewarding project. You are doing a superb job. The foilage is working a treat. The water feature will set it off nicely, than more fun positioning vehicles/figures over and over again. Keep the photo's flowing. Robin.

Really exciting to see all your hard work slowly coming together Tom! It's looking fantastic mate, with loads of detail and some great close up snaps to show your progress. Looking forward to seeing the final product and some water in ya creek.{sm4}

Cheers Toddy

You really have made an impact ,the scenery looks incredible. Very realistic and a lot of thought ,10 out of 10 .Looking forward to the finished result cheers graham

Thanks Bob and I was actually thinking about putting in a railway tunnel entrance but I felt it would look strange being so close to the road (I would also have to have a tunnel entrance for the road) and I would have to build the hill up to a giant mountain!

Thanks Timo, your superb dio has inspired me to go the extra mile with the detail.

Mate...........very well done, looking great and when finished it will cook. The rail bridge and cottage are particularly well done ^&grin:wink2: Here is a local site you may find helpful.

Wayne.

Cheers mate, your bridge is looking great with all the scenery and the track going over and I can't wait to start working around your cottage. Nice stuff on that site although I may just stick with what I got and do another order from this other mob I have been getting the grass tuffs from.

Thanks Moe and yeah, loads amount of time (and a little swearing!) and effort is going into this dio!

Darwin in summer ???

I don't think Wayne would venture up there, even if you had a keg in the fridge :)

The Brisbane guys will be particularly impressed although they may find it hard to believe something like this could be achieved without my leadership!

Well done:salute::
