In the same the Jets managed to beat your Patriots :D

Very true Brad; after that stirring, magnificant, spectacular, incredible "beating" the Jets laid on the Patriots in week two of the season, many Jets fans had the 2-0 Jets penciled in for a trip to the Super Bowl, Ryan a shoe in for coach of the year and the HOF bust for Sanchez was being carved as well.

Since then the Patriots have taken control of the division, Sanchez has fallen back to earth, Ryan is all hat, no cattle and the Jets.................well, they've become the same old Jets.

Yep, the more things change, the more they stay the same; 40 years and counting of the same old Jets.......................

Here in MN, we're still trying to figure out what we have. Last week, did we beat the Bengals, or did the Bengals beat themselves? The week before we got run out of the building in Arizona, who turned around and lost to SF.

Yes, there's hope up in frozen lands...but we know our history all too well. We've been better than the Jets for years - actually had some pretty good teams in the last decade or so...but we have no rings to show for it. Heck, we can't even find a way back to the Super Bowl!

So yes...I think we have a good team. Yes, I think we can play with anyone in the league. And yes, I'm waiting for us to do something stupid (can you say Gary Anderson, 1999??) that will send us home in January.

And is it better to have a ring from the depths of history with terrible years to follow, or years of being pretty good, with no championships to show for it??

As I remember talking to you George, it wasn't just Jets fans who had the Jets penciled in doing this and that but a few Pats fan as well. Sanchez is a rookie so he's learning on the job and playing like one. As far as the Coach goes, I think we have a real deal. At least he's not a psycho unlike some other coaches.

Too bad there are no east coast games today. I could go for a blizzard bowl.

Afew games were moved to 4:00pm tomorrow, so there still could be a mess out there, sitting in the stands after a blizzard rolls through sounds like one heck of a fun day..........

Yes, he is a rookie and as with most rookie QB's who start out with some success, stuff gets thrown at them they've never seen before and they fall back to earth.

The jury is still out as to whether he'll be a superstar in the NFL or JAG................

Well, it finally happened. The Saints ran out of time and luck. They flirted with losing for weeks now and it caught up with them. Oh well, they still look like the best NFC team. Too bad it wasn't the Redskins that got them.:( -- lancer

Hey Michael;

HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS!!!!!!!

See what happens when you put pressure on a quarterback; don't care how good a QB a guy is, if you put pressure on him, he throws before he's really ready to, fumbles, throws INT's, etc, etc, etc.

I'm still going with Saints/Colts in the Super Bowl and the Colts will be the first team in history to go 19-0 and will be crowned the team of the decade and Manning will be crowned the greatest QB of all time (and as a Patriots fan, it pains me to say that, but that is the reality of the situation).

Either that or the Colts will do what they usually do, gag away the first game after the bye and be one and done just like in 2005 and 2007..........................

You're right George...Ware and Spencer disrupted Brees game big time...

they exposed their weakness to other teams...

I wonder if Folk got to fly home on the plane...

Jerry might have left him there....hahaha:D

Indy has to be the favorite in the AFC...Rivers or Brady as spoilers...

I know Brady would like a second chance with Manning...

NE could easily be 11-2...

lost to Indy by 1
lost to Miami by 1
lost to Denver by 3

wouldn't count them out...

NFC...

Dallas has a long road...

Romo has been playing "lights out"...just too many "miscues" to close the deal...

Should take Washington next week with 8 days rest...

I would think the Boy's have a lot of confidence right now after beating New Or in New Or....hope it carries over...

Philadelphia game may not be moot after all...

If Philly loses to San Fran or Denver...well...we will see...

Philly's game today is on a frozen field...move up to 3PM to try and repair...anything can happen on that field and SF has a decent defense against the run...

I loved watching ESPN today...

Steak for breakfast today...no toast...hahahaha:D

GB might have their hands full in Pitt against an angry Steeler's team...

GB still has Arizona on the road in week 16...

but if Arizona has clinched by then...Warner might not show up and it's a gimme for GB...

again...we will see.

The Cowboys are really not that good but they certainly go it done last night. It is not just pressure though, it is how you do it. Pressure with the front four or even five and any offense has a problem. That is why the offensive line is always so important and why with the cobbled together Skin line this year they had such little offense, despite their many weapons.;)

Being a Bear fan and just disgusted at their play, I wonder how many more interceptions Cutler can throw. Two more in the 1st quarter today.

Well perhaps he has no offensive line or perhaps the Skins were lucky not to get him afterall.;) Besides, aren't the Bears the team that usually wins despite of their quarterbacks?:D

Well, we may not make the playoffs, but how about Big Ben with the finish for the Steelers, what a game! I am just shell shocked at the lack of defensive stopping power we have right now. Last year, that game would have ended with a steeler victory 28 to 21.
Still happy and exciting today though!

Michael,
If the Cowboys get in, watch out as that defense can play lights out vs the Vikings or the Saints and if Romo gets hot, they can get on a roll like the Giants did in 2007.

As far as the Patriots, Brady just does not have it this year, he made several bone headed throws today and they allowed a sad sack Bills team to hang around all game long. They were on a roll going into that Colts game and they are just not the same team since blowing that game.

Chargers/Colts would be a great AFCCG, although have to give the Bengals credit today, despite playing with heavy hearts, they gave the Chargers all they could handle today, they could be in the mix too.

What is great about the NFL this year is although there are two teams with one loss between them, they are not head and shoulders above the others with several teams having a legit shot to win it all.

Then there's the Jets, who once again managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory once again today.

Can't wait to hear that fella on WFAN tomorrow, Joe somebody or another who goes on a rant at the beginning of his show after every Jets loss, the guy is priceless, just comical how he goes off.

It is not just pressure though, it is how you do it.

Whether it's via the front four, or linebackers rushing from the outside, or cornerback/safety blitzes, pressure is pressure.

Doesn't matter where it comes from as long as it comes.

Manning is not the same QB when someone is in his face, which is hardly ever as the Colts are the masters of holding, with Saturday the headmaster of it............................

You know who self admittedly claims to love and welcome blitzes...

and does well with them too..

Kurt Warner...

he publicly has said on several occassions...

"I love blitzes...I hope they blitz"...

he didn't seem to like San Farncisco's pass rush last week...with 2 picks...178 yards..and a QB rating of 44.9...lol.

That was an embarrasing night of football. If the Vikes can't start running the ball, we only have a few games left.

Terrible!

Actually that is not right George. It matters quite a bit what it comes from. Blitzes are gambles that either work well or end up putting offensive points on the board.;) BTW, the Patriots never ever hold, right?;):D
