N.F.L. 21-22 Season (2 Viewers)

The Browns now have 24 players on the Covid list. Game moved to Monday. Saints head coach has Covid. Multiple teams are signing practice squad QBs. The writing is on the wall. The NFL owners are going into Alamo mode to keep the money flowing but it's not looking good.

It’s too early to make any definitive statements about the effect of Omicron, which is expected to become the dominant strain in the US in January. The South African experience indicates it’s milder, with less hospitalization and lesser deaths but in the UK where it’s now hitting hard, scientists say there is no evidence to think it will be milder than Delta. One thing we’ve learned about this virus is that today’s definitive statement may become outmoded tomorrow. This is even more so with a relatively new variant. More and more variants will develop unless the world is vaccinated and additional vaccines may need to be developed.

Browns/Raiders now rescheduled to early next week, another game has also been rescheduled.

Yeah, let's play 7 days a week, that will solve the problem, so the two teams playing on Tuesday; they have 4 days to get ready for their next game then?

Sounds like a solid plan by the NFL.

And let's can the virus talk before this thread gets locked too.

We're stuck with it forever; let's leave it at that.

The NFL is going to be cutting testing. Only unvaccinated and those experiencing symptoms will be tested. Asymptomatic players will be spot checked. So, while people are waiting on line for hours to get tested, the NFL is saying “Testing? Testing? I don’t need your stinking testing.”

Well the show must go on regardless.

In other sports news, the Bruins have had a major outbreak and the NHL has shut them down for 10 days.

My youngest sisters friend and her family were going to see a play and the theatre requires a vaccination card, OR, a negative test and not a negative test from a home kit, but from an actual facility.

As Brad pointed out, her doctors office told her it's a massive wait to get tested, she can cut the line out of network for 180.00 per person....................so, she's not going to the play.

I'm confused; so they shut down all those drive up testing sites apparently.......................

no testing...let them mingle together and see what happens...lol...
while the rest of the world is trying to contain this...avoiding known positive cases...
the NFL is throwing everyone together regardless of their unknown health status and letting them play...
that's responsible...
throw a dead fish in the barrel and see if it kills all the other fish...
it's like they are an independent state now...

Harbaugh and his 2-point conversion attempts are flushing the Ravens down the drain... -- Al

this week in the NFL is like Bizzaro World...
where everything is backwards...

first over 100 Covid positives...

then 1-11-1 Detroit crushed 10-3 Arizona...

then New Orleans threw a shutout against TB and Tom Brady...
4th time in a row in regular season that New Orleans has beat him since he went to TB...
broke his streak of 255 games with no shut outs...

like Doug says..."another reason not to bet"...

some other upsets...but these two nobody saw coming...
this really rearranged the seedings for the playoffs in the NFC...

even the schedule is topsy-turvy with 2 games on both Monday & Tuesday...

"on any given Sunday"...

The schedule has gotten so whacking out of order that I completely missed the Patriot/Colt game on Saturday, missed as in I had no idea they were even playing on Saturday. Either I need to check listings every 30 minutes for changes or the NFL needs to get back to a normal schedule OR the NFL could try some sort of advertising other than betting lines, etc. :rolleyes2: -- Al

Coach I have a ton of respect for via a quote:

Bill Belichick: (He opened of his post-game press conference lose to the Colts by acknowledging Colt’s center Ryan Kelly and his wife who just lost an unborn baby):

“First of all, I’d like to extend my sympathy to Ryan and his family. Our hearts go out to him.”

Coach I have no respect for via a quote:

Bruce Arians: (From 2020 when Tampa Bay signed Antonio Brown):

“He screws up one time, he’s gone.”

In fairness, maybe Arians meant once per season....................

Anyone who judges Belichick from his post game press conferences and how short and gruff he is with the media is an imbecile.

He was especially short and gruff the other night and on his usual media session on Monday, he opened with "First of all, I'd like to apologize for my attitude on Saturday, it was a frustrating loss and I am sorry I acted the way I did" or words to that effect.

Oh gee; maybe he should be a better loser and be a swell guy about losing a nutpunch game like that and throw roses and puppies at the media.

As the greatest coach in NFL history once said "Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser."

Mr Vince Lombardi, they even named a trophy after him.

Last night’s Bears game has to be one of the most frustrating I’ve seen in a long time (forget about the refs). That was a very winnable game but their errors cost it.

Welcome to every week with the Pittsburgh Steelers this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A lot of the games this weekend resembled preseason games with practice squad QBs and so many players out with COVID. A real embarrassment to the NFL.

Crapoloppo really choked that game away last night for the Niners. A couple of ugly INTs. He plays like Joe Montana against the Rams but no one else.

He’s just awful. They should have won that game easily.

Jimmy G. came out throwing darts...then went stale after they got up 10-0...

they weirdest thing was Tennessee must have converted 10 3rd and longs that game...
seems like every series...the Titan's vaunted run offense...would run on 1st & 2nd...get stuffed or sacked...
then on 3rd and long...Tannehill would complete a 15 to25 yard pass to get a new series...
SF's pass secondary made it too easy for him...they made Tannehill look really good...

tell you who looked lost last week...
Tom Brady...
never seen him have such a bad game...
