N.F.L. 21-22 Season (2 Viewers)

Last night in his post-game press conference, Dak Prescott was asked about fans throwing trash onto the field as players and officials headed for the locker room.

He initially expressed disappointment that fans would throw trash at their own team’s players.

When he was told they were throwing debris at the officials, however, he said, "Credit to them then."

That response is pathetic.

yea...great idea throwing debris on the field...Demarcus Lawrence (Cowboy DE) was actually struck with some of it...

What was with the fake punt where Dallas converted a first down but then kept their special teams on the field until the play clock ran down? They then tried to run on the offense at the last moment only to get called for a delay of game? Bizarre. Romo said something about they were trying to get the Niners to call timeout. But why would they do that since SF was ahead by 16 and Dallas didn't have a QB in the game? The Niners were no better. They line up for a fourth and inches to end the game but they decide to move an O-lineman and he doesn't get set before they snap the ball. And SF doesn't go for two when they score a TD to go up 15. That would have cost them the game if Dallas scores on that last drive. Unbelievable amateur hour on both sides.

baffled by that strategy myself...it just didn't make any sense...and a team can't overcome 1st and 15 on every series and expect to win...very undisciplined...the 5 pre-snap penalties (false starts)...puts too much pressure on the offense...14 penalties for 89 yards just destroys an offense...Dallas lost that game in the first quarter...SF put together a great 1st...13-0 before the Cowboys realized the game had started...Dallas had 2 late drive chances to take the lead...penalties and execution killed them at every turn...sloppy football...SF was the better team...Dallas can't run the ball and if Dak is not clicking...they will stall as I have seen them do many times this year...would not be surprised to see McCarthy have to get in the barrel and take the blame...he might be gone...would rather see him gone and Quinn as the head coach...

Comments on this weekend:

A> Bengals - need to do more on offense, they have the weapons, but will need more.

B. Bills - peaking, however, if teams watch the early season Steelers Game - that is the blueprint to stop them.

C. Bucs - playing well enough and the experience factor, tough to deal with

D. 49ers - had the game long won and then Jimmy G made some terrible mistakes - they are one mistake away from losing to anyone, literally. Dallas just didn't show up initially and you cannot hope an official is going to save you. End of day, terrible play call, and the rules are the rules.

E. Chiefs - too many weapons at home for the Steelers. If the Steelers could have kept offensive drives going early, maybe different game. That said, once the Chiefs get into a rhythm, they can and will beat any team left in the playoffs.

Again, just my observations. End of the day, I was happy to see Big Ben throw some nice throws in the second half, that is an ok memory to take away as they had nothing to lose in playing the game, they were not expected to win. On another note, thought it was a great stat that Big Ben and Tomlin never had a losing season together, that is pretty cool.

It would not surprise me if Ben is playing next year in a different uniform...I read what he said last night and no doubt he loves Pittsburgh but never said "I'm retiring"....with soooo many teams needing a quality QB, I believe if he's offered a decent option he might play next season.

I think that's it. He doesn't have the 35 yard accuracy he once had and they never threw the 15 yard middles until they need them. I think he enjoyed the challenge of getting them in the playoffs, but they just didnt' have the depth to go far. Point being, he made the most of what he had left, but he was a very smart guy regarding banking money, he is one of the wealthiest (in terms of having all the money he made), I think only Gronk has more of his contract money than Ben. I also read where Ben invested heavily in the market over the years and has made unbelievable money. From what I read, he has FU money. For a pro athlete,, that is pretty good. IMO , he is done.

I do agree, there are a lot of poor QB's in the league and even in his diminished skill set, he probably is still better than most. I still dont see him in any other uniform.

At the end of Wild-Card weekend I am sticking with my Green Bay vs. Kansas City Super Bowl pick.

I truly hope I am a wrong…….

Nice win for the Rams. The perfect storm with Murray looking hobbled, Akers returning to give them a running game, and playing at home. The D really won that game. That Niners loss is coming back to haunt them, though. Instead of playing Tampa in LA they have to go on the road. ESPN is only giving the Rams a 34% chance of winning that game. That seems pessimistic to me. I think that is a 50-50 game. The Rams are 2-0 against Brady's Bucs. The Rams can't just let Brady make that quick throw and catch. I can't understand why teams sit back and allow Brady to do that for the entire game. I'm putting everyone in the box and making Brady beat me with throws downfield while under pressure. He releases the ball on average in just over two seconds. No way to pressure him if the defense doesn't take away that short passing game. I'm hoping for a Rams-Niners rematch in the NFC championship game. If I have to watch Brady and Rodgers again, that will be too much.

Last night's win was a good one. Rams played up to their ability and delivered, need to keep that momentum going.

Tom-
The Rams played with a nasty attitude last night that is sometimes lacking. Cam Akers ran over Budda Baker like a freight train. You could see the tweety birds circling his head. At one point, Aaron Donald appeared to be trying to choke a Card O-lineman and when he couldn't do that, he tried to gouge him in the eye. Old school football. Hopefully they bring that attitude to Brady. Teams seem afraid to knock him on his backside. Either due to his "greatness" or the refs protecting him.

Doug,
I do like Cam Akers from his days of Florida State and I was actually yelling at the Rams as to why bothering using Sony Michel, he IMO is worthless if Akers is healthy. No comparison to toughness or breakaway speed. One thing they need to improve on is who taught Stafford how to sneak>? He is going to get his neck broken!!!!

Good luck on next game, would be nice to see Brady make an exit!

Some great match-ups this weekend!! Thinking the Bengals are going to give the Titans all they can handle, if the Rams play like last night it's goodnight Brady, the Pack I believe are on a run and will get by the 49'ers easily, the Bills vs. Chefs?? Toss a coin!! That's going to be a good one!!

TN is supposed to get Henry back. I can't see Cincy winning two playoff games in a row after not winning one in the last thirty years. So I like TN. KC will give Buffalo a beatdown. Green Bay should win at home. The Niners are banged up. I will exercise my bias and take the Rams over Tampa.

Mostly agree, but I see Buffalo stealing a win in KC, and I pray your Rams send Brady home early this year...I don't think I can stand another Brady Superbowl 🙄

I said this before, Buffalo is ripe to being beaten with a pressure defense. He does not make great decision when a rush is on, the Chiefs have the goods to do this. After seeing the weapons clicking against IMO a decent Steelers pressure D - KC's weapons are too much. And that RB pickup is a difference maker. I see the Chiefs, Titans and the Packers and Rams/Bucs moving on. I am having trouble betting against Brady, but I think a fully operating Rams team can make it happen, the Defense if on their game will give Brady hell.

Nothing would make me happier than a Bills win but it isn’t going to happen.

I am not sure that the much debated Bucs/Rams game matters much considering either one will lose the next week to Green Bay.

It seems odd that the NFL has scheduled the cold weather games to be played at night and the warm weather games to be during the day. Imagine sitting at Lambeau Field at night in late January for four plus hours with temps near zero? I assume they do this to maximize TV ratings but that is brutal.
