N.F.L. 21-22 Season (2 Viewers)

So far, 3 games with 3 walk-off FGs to win. NFL has had a good weekend even if BP's everywhere are spiking and have fans everywhere running for their RX's. -- Al

Al...yes...
close games today...all worth watching...
49ers...Bengals and Rams...
were probably not the early favorites to go this far...
glad to see some new teams go deep in the playoffs...
there is parity in the NFL...

Bills are giving KC a battle so far...
Mahomes has crazy legs...as does Allen...
I have enjoyed watching Buffalo the last couple of seasons...
would like to see them win...

Close one in KC Starting the 4th ...can't remember a better divisional Round weekend in recent memory.

They saved the best for last. Can't remember so many good games in one weekend. The NFL must be rubbing it's hands in glee. These games this weekend have made a fan out of me again. Been a long time since I was this entertained by pro football. Congrats to the winners, all surprises. Don't know who will win the KC/Buffalo game but it doesn't matter as it has been such fun. OT, here we come. -- Al
P.S. - Didn't take long. Congrats to KC. Whew!

KC vs Buffalo...
that was Superman vs Superman...
neither team deserved to lose...
what a roller coaster of a game...

Crazy stuff this weekend. Three road teams win on the final play. KC/Buffalo OT shootout. Sports is an enormous waste of time and logically there is no reason to care why one group of random guys wins a game against another, but couldn't help myself. Watched it all. Where are George and Brad?

Guilty here too. They are not even my teams, but I have to admit, wholly entertaining, maybe the best stretch of the year!

I am a lifelong Bay Area Sports fan who relishes the rivalries with the SoCal teams.

I get into each and every Giants/Dodgers game, regular season or playoffs. I like to see the Warriors and Lakers play and I watch whenever the Sharks play the Kings and/or the Ducks.

Yet somehow in my sports world, despite the NFL’s popularity, the 49er’s rivalry with the Rams is non-existent.

Sounds more and more like Brady is done. When someone starts talking publicly about what is in the best interest of his family, that means the end is near. I'm kind of surprised. Thought he would play at least one more season until he was 45. That may still turn out to be the case, but his public comments make it seem like it would be selfish to ignore his family's interest. Something really went askew in Tampa down the stretch. Brown going loco, injuries to key players, Arians slapping a player on the field (he looks like a suicide bomber on the sidelines under normal circumstances), and the breakdowns on D when players clearly didn't know what was going on. That team did not have a good vibe coming into the playoffs.

I tend to be on both sides of playoff overtime rules.

Essentially if the Niners won a game under those circumstances then it is a great way to play, if they lose it needs to be changed.

However in the 11 playoff games that have gone to overtime with the current rules, 10 of those games have been won by the team that won the coin toss. 7 of those were won without the opposing offense even getting the ball.

Maybe it is time to change the overtime rules.

I can understand the NFL OT rule during the regular season. In theory, it shortens games to avoid injuries. In the playoffs with so much at stake, I would like to see the NFL just play a full 10-minute OT quarter to decide the game. If they can play a 17-game season, a few more minutes in the playoffs will not matter. I also dislike the new college football OT rule which allows each team one play to score after the second OT. That was a farce.

I'm doubling down on my Rams this week. At home with the Super Bowl on the line against the Niners. Forget about it. They are in win now mode. If they can't win this one and end the six-game drought to SF, then it will never happen. KC will just outscore the Bengals. KC has an awful defense but Mahomes is playing off the charts.

Predicts:

Rams 27
49ers 23

KC 38
Cincy 27

I'm pulling for the Bengals but I think the Cinderella story comes to a end in KC....hoping I'm wrong!

The Niners have been running on luck and magic while LA has the talent and skill.

While I continue to hope for a win, luck and magic generally run out while talent and skill does not.

It's a huge game for the Rams who have basically put all their chips on the table to win this year. Hopefully the stadium is not full of SF fans like the last game. That was embarrassing. The Niners must have a huge fan base. I was at lunch today here in Central PA where the temps were about 10 degrees and at the table next to me were several folks wearing SF jerseys. Unreal. I guess that is a legacy of the dynasty years. A few teams like the Steelers, Cowboys, and Packers seem to have that large national following.

Combat:

Having traveled throughout the country quite a bit over the past few years I too have noticed Niner gear just about everywhere.

It seems to be non-scientific evidence that the Bay Area exodus is real.

But let’s forget about all that now, that is another topic for another day.

Best of luck to you and the Rams.

May the best team win.

Jason...

this is a pic of AT&T Stadium in Dallas in 2014 at the home opening game of the Cowboys vs San Fran...
a sea of red...lol...
the scalped price value of the tickets of Dallas season ticket holders is more than lucrative...
I have read stories of Dallas season ticket holders selling their seats for several thousand dollars over face value...
a lot of Dallas season ticket holders sell their seats for very hefty profits...

after that drive stalled when time ran out in the first half...
Mahomes doesn't look like the same QB in the 2nd half...
to blow an 18 point lead going into the 4th...
momentum is on the Bengal's side...
