N.F.L. 21-22 Season (2 Viewers)

I've said a few times this thread , Cinncy is playing with house money with nothing to lose...Let's go Bengals!!!

Chiefs looked odd the entire 2nd half and overtime. Just wack, like they didn't want to be there, couldn't do anything right, just an odd letdown at the wrong time. Bengals just played steady and won. Weird game.

Congrats to the Rams, another kind of hokey game, but Rams D came alive at the right time. Crazy, I thought the 49ers with 3 time outs and 6mins to go were still in the driver's seat, how quickly fortunes reverse.

Should be an interesting Super Bowl, but my early prediction is that if the Ram's D shows up in full capacity at home, lights out for the Bengals.

at 10-7 in the regular season...I totally underestimated the 49ers...
I really never thought that much of Garoppolo either...I don't know why...maybe I just watched him on tv when he didn't have his best games...and maybe some because New England just let him go so quickly without even looking back...
but I was really mistaken...especially about the 49ers as a team...
like the Gestalt principles that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts...they are a very complete physical team...a good offense with an overwhelming defense...
I thought the Cowboys would eliminate them with ease...the line was Dallas -3 at AT&T Stadium...Dallas being way under valued in my opinion...
yea...right...like Lee Corso says..."not so fast my friend"...a 6 point loss by Dallas didn't actually show how Dallas was dominated...
after they dispatched the Cowboys...I was sure Aaron Rodgers would crush them in Green Bay's "Frozen Tundra"...
surprise again...they held "that bad man"...Aaron Rodgers to 10 points and moved on to Rams...
49er's were in the game tonight to the end...sorry to see them lose...but respect them a lot more than a did a few months ago...
still not loving Garoppolo...and think a better arm would really make them a great team...but hats off to the 49ers for going as far as they did this year...
congrats to the Rams and Bengals fans...you made it...lol...
gotta go with Stafford in the SB...I think they are the better team than the Bengals on both sides of the ball...

The Niners certainly give the Rams fits. They had a great run with road wins over LA to end the season and then Dallas and Green Bay in the playoffs. They looked a bit tired and banged up, though. Couldn't get any pressure on Stafford. I think Jimmy G. is done there. Maybe heading to Pittsburgh or the Deadskins. Aaron Rodger is most likely heading to Denver but SF would be an interested choice. As for the Rams, that would have been a soul crushing loss if they hadn't pulled it out. No running game at all against SF or Tampa. The entire game was on Stafford and the defense. Kupp is an absolute beast. The Rams matchup well with Cincy. TN had nine sacks on Burroughs. The Rams D will be able to pressure him.

I'm not sure what happened to Mahomes. He completely imploded after being up 21-3. Some wild throws, terrible decisions and not making any plays with his legs like he did against the Bills. Just a complete collapse. That was ugly.

Congrats to the Rams, they were the better team over 4 quarters.

I have always like Stafford. He has been a huge catalyst when it comes to charities and giving back to local communities.

The Super Bowl should be a great game with 2 teams that both deserve to be there.

Im going to sound like a downer but I really didnt see anything all the exciting in the NFL or NCAA football this season. Im cool with Burrow or Stafford winning the Super Bowl but am happy to catch the score at 11.

I dont know if the 17 game schedule did the NFL any good- right now, sure it seems like it did with a Divisional round with 3 games coming down to the last second. I am beyond annoyed hearing Joe Buck and Collinsworth heap praise upon praise about some rookie breaking some team rookie record- yeah, he played an extra game for the season. I think the "stat that" mentality with all these BS nonsensical stats like "he's the first rookie QB to toss 5 touchdowns in a half during a full lunar eclipse on Mars"- the game has gone from announcers who knew and understood the game (ie Madden and Summerall) to just throwing out nonsense stats to fill air time because networks think we want to hear what announcers say.

It seems the latest recipe is keep the game 10-7 through the third quarter, toss a dozen or so 20-30 yard plays into the 4th quarter and then someone kick a 50 yard field goal to close the game. It's like the sudden death syndrome being played out in the last 10 seconds of the games.

Seems like scores of fans have forgotten the utterly atrocious games from weeks 11-17 like any Saints game during that stretch, the Dolphins too and Dallas blowing out the Skins 56-17- I turned that off after 5 minutes- I honestly felt sorry for those kids on the 'Skins who got in a fight on the sidelines- the frustration level with COVID and stretching out the season to make a few more bucks has to be tough to deal with.

Hopefully it turns around. It just wasnt a very exciting season in my opinion- at any level.

Brady calls it quits, give him his due as he is most certainly one of the best NFL players of all time...that's where I leave it, didn't think the way he left the Pats was all that classy, and then today in his Instagram message he thanks Tampa Bay, the fans and players there...doesn't mention New England??😳😳...after much blow back he releases a statement later in the morning thanking Pat fans. Again don't find it very classy....Dam.....I need my shot of George to return here.

The Washington "Commanders." It is not the worst choice but I dislike Dan Snyder so much that I'm going to hate it on principle.

Never seen a QB get pushed out the door as fast as Jimmy G. in SF. He wasn't great in the playoffs but good enough to get a couple of great road wins. His coach and fellow players started acknowledging he was done in the locker room and now he has said his farewells. He seems like a good guy but I guess not good enough to pay him $30 million next season. Can't imagine anyone trading anything of value for him knowing that the 49ers have to unload him.

I am in the group that says they should have kept the original name. This is like when the Washington Bullets changed to Wizards, sort of non event, non name. They picked the most benign mediocre name they could pick IMO. I think at least until the next gen, they will be the Skins. They can pay for the name change by all the new merch they sell. I wonder if it will become like Nascar and the Skins will ban fans from coming in with the old logo................!

watched the Terry Bradshaw HBO show..."Going Deep"...last night...interesting show...
Bradshaw kills me...he takes so many anti depressant type drugs to control his anxiety issues...
he's just comes off as flat goofy sometimes...I love the way he just laughs through everything...
there is a very sensitive segment where he candidly admits...
he's "f'ing tired of the Fox station and Fox colleagues portraying him as a dumb butt...sheds a tear or two over it...
but still makes light of his lack of academic achievements...
just a "good ole boy" from Louisiana...it was an entertaining watch...
lots of NFL clips laced throughout the show...
I always liked Bradshaw even though he gave the Cowboys fits...

I have always said that Bradshaw is as real as it gets when it comes to a celebrity. Down to earth guy that is sly like a fox. For being a dummy, he sure has made a lot of dough, friends, records, etc. along the way. IMO "His momma didn't raise no dummy".

Another note, he openly says that if not for Phil Robertson's desire to hunt and make duck calls, he never would have made it to the NFL.

Crazy huh.

Tom...
I have always admired Bradshaw...while he didn't have great stats as a QB...he was a winner when it counted...and so true what you say...he is definitely not pretentious...just a "regular Joe" that people can relate too...and there's probably a lot of truth to the Duck Dynasty star relinquishing his starting role as QB that started TB's career...I do feel sad that the public has stereotyped him as a dummy...it really bothers him and he has kept this bottled up for years...he's no dummy...I'm envious of his net worth and he currently has a very lucrative contract with Fox...

in the HBO show...his singing left a lot to be desired...is that true that he was once #9 on the National Billboard with "I'm So Lonesome"? I had seen his "Jambalaya" version years before...it too was a decent rendition...but #9 is hard to believe...can't go wrong with Hank Williams though...he had 11 #1 hits...

did you ever see the tv show he did Winkler/Forman/Shatner/Dye..."Better Late Than Never"? It was hysterical...a total insult to foreign cultures by these 5 American rubes...

Jimmy G., never won a Super Bowl but that doesn’t mean he didn’t win as a Niner.

He was a huge community guy who gave back tons to the Bay Area (he did the same when he was with the Pats) and he never shied away from the press even when they continually badgered him about not being Joe Montana.

In fact at his “last” Bay Area press conference on Tuesday he specifically thanked the local media.

No Super Bowl but pure class throughout his time with SF.

I am ok with that.

Yes, he seemed like a good guy and great competitor. The 49ers were the perfect team for him because they could pass protect and run the ball. He didn't have to win games on his own. He just had to avoid screwing up. When the game did fall on him, however, the results usually weren't good. I don't think he lasts long elsewhere if he has to take on a bigger role.

Terrible story about the fan in a coma after an altercation outside the stadium at the Rams game. It just shows how dangerous it is to be at these games amongst a bunch of overstimulated drunks. According to the latest reports, this fan pushed someone who then turned around and belted him. He hit his head on the ground. Now one guy is in a coma and the other guy is under arrest. All for nothing. The fan violence at sporting events - not unlike on cruises - has been underreported to avoid discouraging people from attending. NFL games are the worst for drunken fans and loudmouths.

Time to pick em....going with my heart and the AFC North

Bengals 27
Rams 24

that Alvin Kamara story is pretty ugly too...
looks like that guy got the "thug life bum rush beating" from his entourage...

My bet is that there will be a civil case settlement that makes the criminal aspect disappear via an “uncooperative” victim/witness.

Considering the fact that the league does not require a guilty verdict in criminal cases to impose punishment on a player they could actually do something about this.

If the NFL had any guts (they don’t) then it would make civil settlements involving criminal cases grounds for extended suspensions.
