N.F.L. 21-22 Season (2 Viewers)

Only to be out done by Cleveland. What a circus with Watson.

Some guys just don’t belong in the NFL or society.

Cleveland was pure garbage before this signing, now they are below that immeasurable threshold.

Hopefully this doesn’t end well for them.

Watson is a top tier QB...but not a top tier human being...
he made out like a bandit with Cleveland...
the whole contract is guaranteed...$230 million...
and with all that's hanging over his head...that's amazing...Cleveland is taking a huge gamble...
would not be surprised at all if Goodell sticks a huge suspension on him...
of course...that's if the NFL will ever investigate this...
March 2021...it's been a year since the first complaint...and the NFL has not even interviewed any of the litigants against him...
that's kind of weird...even with the the jury agreeing not to press criminal charges against him...the NFL has sat on their hands on this...

The NFL is simply weak, no matter what the timeline. No other business would get away with their flimsy responses to domestic violence and sexual assault.

Remember Big Ben, was never even charged or went to a grand jury and they suspending him 6 games for even the inkling of suspicion (one case was settled civilly). Granted, even as a fan, I thought he was a big fat jerk back then with too much money in the bank and too much time. Best thing that ever happened to him was getting married. He grew up overnight, became a role model in the community, complete 180. I also heard his parents had a big hand in this turnaround. Apparently his Dad really stepped in and is someone not to mess with or at least thankfully Ben very much respects. Money and power at times lead to a twisted sense of reality. For me personally, if I had that gift of athletics and fame, I certainly would embrace the role model/leader aspect. Talk about a rush, adulation, etc.

Many of these players are sleaze balls, but criminal matters should be the responsibility of law enforcement. If law enforcement decides not to prosecute them after an investigation, then that decision is on them. Not sure a private business should punish an employee based on an allegation that does not result in any criminal charge or conviction. A lot of grounds for abuse to void contracts or force compliance with woke policies.

Woke policies?

Ray Rice was never convicted of a crime and has no criminal record.

For those of you who have forgotten while in an elevator he punched his fiancé in the face, knocked her out, then dragged her unconscious body out of the elevator leaving her ankles and feet in the track of the elevator doors.

Please watch the video below and then tell me that convictions matter:

The blame lays with law enforcement for not doing their job if there is a crime. I don't want the NFL or any employer in the business of deciding whether conduct is acceptable. If you grant them that power, it won't be long before supporting the wrong political party or saying the "incorrect" thing will subject someone to punishment. You could lose your job for not towing the line. We are already at that stage in many instances. In America, you are innocent until proven guilty. It's not up to me or you or the NFL to enforce criminal laws. If someone commits a crime, prosecute them by all means. Lock them up and the NFL won't have to decide on whether they can play etc.

I understand your point of view but I still think there are instances when a conviction is not necessary for the NFL or it’s teams to take action.

For example, Aaron Hernandez was released by the Patriots the same day he was arrested for murder, June 26 2013, however, he was not actually convicted of those murder charges until April 15, 2015.

The Rams signed Bobby Wagner. Holy cow! If he is even half the player he was in Seattle and stays healthy, the Rams D will be an absolute beast next year. They lost Von Miller but Wagner might be the better player. LB was about their only weakness on D. Have to give the Rams credit. They are going all out to win.

Tom...
what's the story on Haskins?
no article says why he was trying to walk across the highway...
you know anything on it?
tragic loss...

Florida Highway Patrol said Haskins had been walking on a highway in Fort Lauderdale "for unknown reasons" and had been attempting to cross when he was hit by a dump truck.

Sad story. I'm sure more details will come out but absent his car breaking down there is no good reason to be walking across the interstate. Incredibly dangerous. Also feel bad for the driver who struck him assuming he was not acting recklessly. That must be a traumatic experience. Maybe I'm just getting older but the aggressive driving that I see on the highways these days is unreal. No sane person would ever get out of their car under those circumstances.

aggressive driving on the highway is a joke down here...guys in these huge trucks want to go 80 plus and feel like everyone should get out their way so they can...they get up on your bumper like a Nascar driver blinking the headlights and waving their arms at you...a 42 year old woman was found gunned down sitting in her car 2 days ago...she died on the way to the hospital...her car was riddled with bullets on the side of the road of the Gulf Freeway...an suspected road rage scenario...the left lane is apparently considered the Texas Autobahn to drivers down here...

I have still not seen any further explanation on this, but it is odd to say the least as well as very tragic.

Cowboys CB Kelvin Joseph who had vague rumors of off-field issues at the draft last year, interviewed by police about a driveby murder in Mid-March after they identified his custom jewelry. His lawyer says he was in the car but didn't shoot, wasn't armed, etc.

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...der-investigation-but-didnt-shoot-per-lawyer/

Funny how he had plenty of time to come forward and say he was in the car, but his lawyer only did so after he was ID'd thanks to his fancy bling.

But hey, stuff happens; if I had to come forward every time I was in a car where a drive by murder was committed, I'd have no free time at all.

The NFL has more scumbags in it that the other three leagues combined.

Nice payday in store for the guy that Jerry Jones slammed into. I'm sure he will suddenly disappear like those equipment guys who worked for the Pats once he gets his settlement and signs the NDA. Either Jones was DUI or he has no clue how to drive. Why is he even driving himself with all his money?

79...he's too old to be driving...

but it was the other driver's fault...
Jerry's car had the green light on a one way street...
the other driver made a left hand turn from the middle lane in front of his car...
Jerry's car was in the far left hand lane...

still the article said Jerry was not driving anyway...
I think it was a Giant's fan out to get him...^&grin

From the video it looks like both cars are going the same direction and the front car makes a slow left turn when Jones comes along and blasts into him from the side and behind. Plenty of time to slow down to avoid the crash. Regardless, Jerry should stick to the yacht.

Jerry's car T-boned the ouch out of him...no doubt about that...
but you can't turn left...from the far right lane...crossing over 2 lanes...on a one way street...
even if there are no cars driving behind you...
you only turn left from the left lane...
and seriously...
I wouldn't feel any safer with him at the wheel of a 500 ton yacht...
he accidently takes one extra pill in the morning...washes it down with some aged Scotch...and that's a recipe for disaster...^&grin
I took my dad's keys away from him when he turned 72...too many booboos with him at the wheel...

I went to SMU in Dallas...lived there for 4 years...I think the speed limit on Harry Hines Blvd. is 45ish...can't really remember...

I think I saw an Eagles bumper stick on the other driver's bumper...lol...
