N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (1 Viewer)

According to the Wash Post: "The Cowboys, Eagles, Giants and Redskins are a combined 3-18 against opponents with a winning record."

I would be happy about that with my Rams heading to Dallas soon but nothing much good has ever happened for LA there. The Cowboys will probably play like the Staubach years. Has any team ever won its division with a losing record?

poor JJ...
he got so agitated today...
he was kicked off a radio show for repeatedly cursing...
old man is gonna get a heart attack from doing this...

The numbers in that game for the Cowboys really hide so many things.

Prescott threw for 334 yards but most of it came in garbage time. Elliot ran for for 81 yards on 19 carries but 31 of that came on an early 1st quarter run. If you take that out he ran for 50 yards on 18 carries or a 2.7 yards per carry average.

Heck even the score makes it seem like it was a close game. It wasn't.

Good lord, the NFC East is terrible. Redskins are 3-9 and are still alive. Good lord. -- Al

Seattle won the NFC West with a 7-9 record, got to host a playoff game and beat the Aints (and speaking of which, if there is another NFL team with a more horrendous playoff history than them, let me know; yeah great, they won a Super Bowl back in 2009 against Frankeforehead and the Colts, but if I am not mistaken, they had never won a playoff game up until that point, then they had the miracle in Minnesota, then the non call vs the Rams that cost them a shot at the Super Bowl, plus that loss to the 7-9 Seahawks).

George,
don't mess with The Who!!!!!!!!!! I saw them on their 50th, actually a helluva show and they were downright comedians between songs about everything including themselves, Trump, etc and they were actually funny!
TD

Yeah, fossil rock is not my thing, especially with all the audio tricks they can play now backstage to make things sound better than they really are; piping in background singers, better audio on instruments, lip synching, auto tune, it's sad that groups that are over the hill keep touring.

I saw Motley Crue is coming back, this after their farewell tour a few years ago where all the band members signed a contract that they were done...….now they are coming back.

I saw them live back when they were at the top of their game, they were incredible, as was the scenery in the crowd, holy smokes, smoke show after smoke show in the crowd.

I saw a video of one of their farewell concerts, Vince Neil was babbling his way through the lyrics of Wild Side, it sounded like a combination of auto tune, Jibberish and Swahili, it was just painful to listen to, they showed crowd shots of 40 something blisters with more wrinkles than a prune and tattoos that looked like they were pressed into silly putty jumping around hopped up on goofballs and weed, they had no clue where they were, but hey, they were rocking out to their favorite hair band from the 1990's...……….sad man, just sad...………………….

It's sad, the Cowboys went from Mr Landry to Johnson, to a parade of stooges, to Garrett...…………..they are the most iconic team in the game and it's sad where they are, that star on their helmet used to mean something, not anymore.

Football is better when they are on top of their game, like baseball is with the Yankees, hockey is with the Canadiens and basketball is with the Lakers...…………….

I think others might disagree with you about football bring better when they’re on top. Would you say that about the Yankees. I don’t think so.

My son has a saying that he borrowed from elsewhere, “When the Cowboys lose, America wins.”

According to him, on social media, Cowboy fans are looking forward to playing the 49ers in the first round because they think they can beat them. Riotous. That game would be over so quickly the fans wouldn’t what hit them.

Well that's how I feel.

As far as the game being over so quickly the fans wouldn't know what hit them; sorry, football is the one sport where all it takes is a few breaks and for a team to be slightly off and bingo, upset city.

I thought the 2007 18-0 Patriots were going to wipe the floor with the 13-6 Giants in the Super Bowl; nope, didn't happen.

If those two teams played 100 times, the Patriots would have rolled the Giants 99 times, but on any given Sunday Opie, Grampa Coughlin and a bunch of nobodies and never were's beat the Patriots.

David Tyree; mother of God.

So you think baseball is better when the Yankees are on top? Interesting.

Yes, because seeing them lose makes me happy when expectations are high.

Same with the Canadiens.

Same with the Lakers.

Every talking NBA head is already crowning the Lakers as Champs.

They've been a tire fire the past few years, which is no fun for me.

I want them to go into the playoffs all high and mighty so that when they and LeBron the king crybaby/whiner/two year old lose, it will be glorious.

Vince is not good and aged bad. However, others are different. When I saw Ozzy 2 years ago, he was older yes but sang, moved and sounded just like he did 30 years ago. Having seen him about 30 times I can tell you he is a miracle walking. Fleetwood Mac,KISS, Iron Maiden have aged well. Motley is at the exact opposite end. Vince had back up singers on stage for the last final tour, they sounded awful. They were noticeably bad. Billly Joel and Elton John are still quite enjoyable so I think it depends on the band. Bottom line, I will pay and go see any of these bands I’ve the crap like Taylor Swift that is out today!

I'm just not a fan of singers or groups who push things past their prime, go out on top, don't be a fossil trying to squeeze out more dough.

Billy Joel is still a very good performer, he's got good background singers to help him, he can still bring it, songs like Innocent Man, Downeaster Alexa, Goodnight Saigon, scenes from an Italian Restaurant, Allentown, These are the times to remember and moving out have stood the test of time...……….that said, he never should have gotten rid of Liberty Devitto, he crushed it on the drums for a long time, his new drummer does not have the chops Liberty has.

Elton John has a great band around him, if you've ever heard them perform Circle of life live it's chilling how tight they play that song. That, Levon and Funeral for a friend are my top three Elton John songs.

A singer like Bob Seger; God love him, but he's not what he used to be, Roll me away, Hollywood Nights and turn the page are better left in the past...………..

Important winner for 49ers. Neither defense could stop a proverbial nose bleed. Very entertaining for the fabs though. Game had a playoff feel.

The NFC doesn't look that invincible anymore. The Saints and Niners couldn't play D and the Packers have struggled. Factor in the hapless Cowboys. On the AFC side, the Ravens are still winning tough games but have come down to earth. The Pats are horrible and the Chiefs aren't much betters. No one was more surprised that KC won today than Andy Reid. You could almost see him looking for a hole to climb in after that blocked punt but they held on. Look out for TN. Tannenhill is lighting it up. Huge game with Houston next week.

I don’t tend to cry foul, but man, the refs sucked in that kc game!!!

That was my overriding impression of the game. Hard to remember a game so poorly officiated. Refs just looked like they had no clue. -- Al

Those refs were absolutely horrendous.

On the Kelce fumble that they blew, the ball was loose, scooped up by Gilmore and they made the classic, boneheaded mistake of blowing the play dead.

The Patriots had to waste a challenge on that, they overturned the play, possession New England, now the Patriots are out of challenges.

During the same drive, Harry scores a TD, but nope, some old, over the hill part time blind lawyer cashing a six figure check each year blows the call, rules him out of bounds, no TD and because the Patriots are now out of challenges, they can't challenge the blown call, so no TD, they end up with FG.

IF YOU AREN'T SURE, CALL IT A TD AND LET NEW YORK REVIEW THE SCORE, DON'T CALL THE GUY OUT OF BOUNDS IF YOU ARE NOT SURE.

HOW STUPID AND INCOMPETENT CAN YOU BE?!?!?!?!?

Great effing job, they blew NOT ONE, BUT TWO TD CALLS ON THE SAME DRIVE.

Later in the game, Dorsett gets tackled on a deep throw, no call for DPI. Not just interfered with, but literally tackled.

The challenge systems sucks too; you get two, if you get one wrong, then get one right, you burn both and are out; if you win the second one, you should get another challenge, how do you punish a team for using a challenge and winning thanks to some incompetent referee blowing a call?

They also missed a OPI on Kelce, he stuck his hip out and hip checked a DB off his assignment, then the guy who caught the ball did not get to the sticks, but they gave it to him anyway, when the Patriots challenged, the call was upheld.

Plain and simple, these guys absolutely suck, they are just beyond horrible.

But yeah, it's the Patriots who are horrible.

Horrible?

The Patriots are horrible?

Number 2 seed in the AFC, 10-3, they just had a 21 game home unbeaten streak snapped, they held the Chiefs to 2 points in the second half and Mahomes, who is the second coming, to 57 yards passing.

But yeah, THEY ARE HORRIBLE.

My God, talk about clueless.

Losing is losing, but losing due to bad refs is the worst!
And yes, I am a pats fan but not limiting that comment to the pats... just sucks overall
