NCAA Football 2019 (1 Viewer)

Perfect week here.

Texas - Win
Florida State - Win
North Carolina - Lose - sorry could not help watching Mack Brown on the sideline as they blew it to NCState.
Clemson Lose - oh man, guess "Dabo ain't dancing this year"
Ohio State - Lose - 2nd half they did not look like one of the best teams in the nation, they got manhandled, plain whupped!
Oregon - Lose - watching them blow that lead was something
TCU - Win - looking pretty good, they are a good all around team
Notre Dame - Lose - always nice when they lose IMO
LSU - Lose - again, not a Jimbo fan obviously, but if he was going to win a timely game, beating Brian Kelly was worth rooting for him.

should be a fun finish. All eyes will be on knocking off Georgia , but I think they are going to be tough to deal with. Michigan needs to play a perfect game against these other offenses and that is a tall order. The speed of the game if they get in a shootout, they are in a bit of trouble (although they handled Ohio State, Ohio State has been hit or miss all year IMO). TCU - they are the team you don't want hanging around as they will beat you. #4 is USC as of now. Of course I guess Conference Championships could throw a big wrinkle in this, but if it is the above 4, may be pretty interesting games.

The PAC 12 is playing their championship game on Friday night. Weird. I suppose that is for TV ratings to avoid all the conferences competing on Saturday but another good reason to leave the PAC. A short week to get ready for the game. USC should be primed with the Heisman, a college football playoff, and revenge against Utah on the line.

If everyone wins out, it will be Georgia, Michigan, TCU and USC, tOSU is not getting in ahead of a one loss team that wins their conference, that's not going to happen.

ESPN is giving USC only a 12% chance of getting into the playoff. I'm pretty sure they have better than a 12% chance of beating Utah on a neutral field. The PAC has been screwed by the biased system since it was created which is another reason that USC and UCLA have decided to leave the PAC.

Every “conference” has been screwed ever since the garbage ranking system has been put in and/or left in place.

There are 5 power conferences, each of those champions should make the playoff. If the NCAA is enamored by rankings they can rank the non-power 5 conferences for the final spot.

That leaves 6 teams in the playoff, the majority of which won their conferences, with 1 team left for archaic rankings to decide.

The latest ESPN computer rankings has USC at #14 and TCU at #10 with Alabama (SEC) and Ohio St. (Big Ten) in the top four. Three and even four loss teams like LSU and Texas are ranked ahead of USC according to ESPN.

The current top 4 “ranked” playoff teams should make the “playoff” no matter whether they win or lose this Saturday.

As noted before I am not a fan of USC.

However, USC loses and a team that did not even qualify for its conference championship game is going to get into the playoff?

What an absolutely terrible system.

Injuries were a killer. SC was up 17-3 before Williams was injured. They were outscored something like 44-7 after that point. Those are the breaks. This was the Super Bowl for a team like Utah. Now we get Ohio St. and maybe even Alabama again if TCU also loses. Just like ESPN wanted. Imagine the hype for the Ohio St. and Michigan rematch.

The Lincoln Riley experience; witnessed it while he was at OU, all the focus is on offense, his defenses have always sucked.

Does USC practice tackling as they were brutal at it all night; on the go ahead touchdown, a safety had the guy wrapped up and basically let him go, just beyond bizarre.

Alabama is not getting in even if TCU loses, you can't have a two loss team jump over a one loss team, not happening.

Yes, that Lincoln Riley's style but it works more often than not. They beat UCLA and ND playing that style and ended the season at 11-2. I'll take that any year. Particularly since USC had one of its worst teams in over 100 years last season. Clay "Gomer" Helton almost destroyed the program. The defense that Riley inherited is one of the worst in college football. It's a miracle this team even whiffed the college football playoffs. And if Williams had not pulled his hamstring, they might have blown out Utah. It was heading that way in the first half.

At least two of the four teams will back into the college football playoff this year if TCU and Ohio St. still get in. It's even possible that all four teams could back in if Georgia and Michigan lose.

It sucks that USC lost because their QB got hurt, that's not the way things should shake out; even if he had not, the USC defense was horrendous last night, they had no answers for Utah.

TCU should get bounced, but they won't, I don't see how a two loss team can jump over them, that's not right.

That said, I wonder if they end up 3rd or 4th.

No one has ever really clarified if the best four teams should be in the playoff or the teams with the best four records. Best four teams are Georgia, Michigan, Ohio St. and Alabama. Best records are Georgia, Michigan, TCU, and Ohio St. Imagine being Georgia and your reward for being #1 might be to get Ohio St. in the first game instead of TCU.

Alabama is ranked #2 ahead of Michigan according to the ESPN computer rankings. {eek3}

Its official; Georgia vs tOSU, Michigan vs TCU.

So, USC got screwed thanks to the pointless conference championship games; they need to do away with them, had USC won, with TCU losing theirs, tOSU still might have snuck in.

But, it's all about money, so they won't do away with the conference championship games.

Having watched every USC game this season (and as a SC alum), I can honestly say that they are not a top four team. One of the best offenses and THE best QB, but the defense is not close. Now they get the worst of all cases in the Cotton Bowl. A hot underdog who will be playing like it's the Super Bowl against a dejected USC team who couldn't care less. And most likely without Caleb Williams with his pulled hamstring.

I've been an avid USC Trojan fan since childhood and also went there.

Facts are facts...USC got their butts kicked!!!!

Utah deserved to win PAC12 Championship.

As great as Caleb Williams is at QB, he doesn't play defense.

Bad night for Troy:

- Got butts kicked
- Caleb Williams gets hurt
- Lose Pac12 Champion and lose bid for National Championship
- IMO, Matt Duggan moves ahead of Williams for Heisman

Today is the best game of the year, Army v Navy. I never miss it and have been watching this game since the early 60's, when Rodger the Dodger was the Navy Qb. Navy leads the series 62-53-7. GO Navy! Beat Army! -- Al

"Eight win" Sark has done it again with his loss in the aptly named Alamo Bowl. Texas will probably give him a couple million dollar raise after another disappointing season since results don't seem to matter in his case. The alums will tar and feather him, though, before all is said and done.

I am ok with Sark losing to a good Washington team.

However, the minute one of his players/alumni chops his ex-wife’s head off I will ask for a replacement.
